Arnold Schwarzenegger shares rare details of son Patrick’s romance with Miley Cyrus
Arnold Schwarzenegger can’t stop (and won’t stop) gushing about Miley Cyrus.
Although the actor’s eldest son, Patrick Schwarzenegger, is no longer dating the pop star, he still has a lot of love for the “very talented” musician.
“She’s a wonderful, wonderful girl and human being,” Arnold, 77, said during his guest appearance on “Watch What Happens Live” Monday.
“She came up to Sun Valley when we were skiing up there, And she was just a wonderful house guest. We just all loved her.”
While host Andy Cohen tried to get Arnold to still some tea on any bad memories from Patrick and Cyrus’ brief relationship, the “Terminator” star had nothing but good things to say about his son’s ex.
“There is no worst part,” he stated. “She was just a really good, good person and fun to hang out with. I’m sorry it didn’t work out.”
Cyrus, 32 and Patrick, 31, were first romantically linked in November 2014.
That same month, the pair confirmed they were a couple when they were caught locking lips at the USC vs. Cal football game at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.
Throughout their short-lived relationship, the couple shared many PDA moments, ranging from a sweet New Year’s kiss to ring in 2015 to cozying up in Hawaii weeks later.
While Arnold gave his blessing to the relationship, Patrick’s mom, Maria Shriver, seemingly had a different tune.
Back in December 2014, insiders told Page Six that Shriver — who was married to Arnold from 1986 to 2021 — did not approve of Patrick dating Cyrus, due to the “We Can’t Stop” singer’s wild antics.
“Maria was going to go to Art Basel … but when she heard Miley was going to be there with Patrick, she canceled,” a source claimed at the time.
Months later, in April 2015, the Grammy winner and the actor called it quits for good.
“It’s not a break. It’s done,” an insider told People, noting that it was a “friendly” split.
“They’re just in two different places in their lives. He’s in college and she’s focused on her music and career.”
Cyrus is now in a “very happy” relationship with musician Maxx Morando, while Patrick is engaged to Abby Champion.
Back in March, the “White Lotus” star revealed that he had to postpone his wedding to the model due to filming Season 3 of the hit HBO series.
“Finally a year and a half ago, we got engaged, and it was our moment. It was this great thing, and about a few days later, I booked ‘White Lotus,’” Patrick explained during his guest appearance on “The Drew Barrymore Show.”
“I was like, ‘Abby, I know we’re in this high of engagement, and we’re gonna get married this year, but we’re gonna have to push it. I got ‘White Lotus’ and I’m gonna go film for the next seven months in Thailand.”
Champion, 28, wasn’t bothered, however. “She was so happy,” Patrick clarified. “She was ecstatic because she was a huge fan.”
The nuptials will now take place in September, Patrick’s dad dished on Monday’s “WWHL.” Details on the location and the guest list have yet to be revealed.
