Aubrey Plaza was scheduled to present at 2025 Golden Globes ahead of husband Jeff Baena’s tragic death
Aubrey Plaza was expected to present at the 2025 Golden Globes on Sunday before her husband, Jeff Baena, unexpectedly died at age 47 on Friday.
The “Parks and Recreation” actress was on the list of more than three dozen presenters announced by the Golden Globes on Thursday.
It’s unclear if she will attend the show, which will air live from Los Angeles’ Beverly Hilton Hotel.
Page Six reached out to her rep regarding whether or not she will attend the event and did not immediately hear back.
Baena died Friday after taking his own life, according to TMZ. He was reportedly found unresponsive in his Los Angeles-area home by an assistant.
The police responded to a call around 10:30 a.m. local time Friday and reportedly announced him dead at the scene.
An official cause of death has not been released.
Plaza, 40, has not yet publicly commented on her husband’s death. Her rep confirmed to Page Six that the family is “devastated” by pointing us to a statement given to Deadline.
The pair had been together since 2010 and the actress revealed via Instagram in 2021 that they secretly tied the knot in 2020 while they were in quarantine amid the coronavirus pandemic.
She later confirmed that it was her husband’s idea to get married, though his suggestion was originally a joke.
The post that the Golden Globe nominee used to reveal she was married appears to be the only public Instagram post she shared with Baena.
In the caption, she praised him as her “darling husband.”
The couple did not share any children, though she told GQ in 2022 that she thought about getting pregnant during the pandemic.
During the same interview, she gave a glimpse of her married life as she compared her real marriage to that of her “White Lotus” character, Harper.
“I’ve been with my husband for 12 years. I relate to being in a relationship that has peaks and valleys, and going through a rough patch and comparing yourself to another couple that seems perfect,” she said.
