Austin Butler reveals how he built a perfect ‘thick’ butt to play a baseball player in ‘Caught Stealing’
Baby Got Back!
Austin Butler revealed how the perfect balance of working out and eating a lot of pizza helped him build a thicker butt to play a baseball player in his new film, “Caught Stealing.”
Filmmaker Darren Aronofsky and Butler had a clear vision of what they wanted the latter’s derrière to look like for the movie, and the actor was committed to making it happen.
“I actually have a whole section of just baseball players’ asses that [Aronofsky] would send me,” Butler, 34, told Men’s Health for a profile published Tuesday. “He was like, ‘Look how thick they are!’”
To achieve the desirable perky butt that baseball players are known to have, the “Elvis” star worked with celebrity trainer Beth Lewis and his fitness routine included “a ton of hip thrusters.”
His strict workout with Lewis also included balancing on a BOSU ball and doing one-arm kettlebell moves.
Since Butler’s character, Hank, is a baseball star turned bartender, Aronofsky also wanted him to look like he had a “drinking problem,” so Butler ate a lot of pizza and drank a lot of beer so he wouldn’t appear too toned.
The “Dune: Part Two” actor revealed that he weighed 150 pounds when he started training with Lewis, and weighed 185 six months later.
“I’ve got a whole section of Celine pants that I just can’t even wear anymore,” he admitted.
Butler also committed to using alcohol to help with his body transformation despite not being a big drinker in real life.
“Drinking has never been my thing,” he said. “I don’t like the way it makes me feel.”
Besides keeping an eye out for Butler’s shapely buttocks in the new film, “Caught Stealing” viewers can also expect to see some chemistry between him and his co-star Zoë Kravitz, who he first sparked romance rumors with back in April.
Following their respective breakups, the stars “have been spending time together over the past few weeks,” an insider told the US Sun at the time.
“They get on very well and their chemistry is as good off-screen as it is on it. Austin and Zoë have been keeping it under the radar and aren’t putting a label on anything yet.”
“They are both very respectful of their ex-partners and are just seeing how things go,” the source concluded.
Last month, the duo were spotted out together in NYC, fueling the rumors even more.
Multiple spies exclusively told Page Six they were seen at immersive theater company Punchdrunk’s latest production, “Viola’s Room,” at the Shed in Hudson Yards.
An eyewitness said that they also headed out together after the show.
Butler was previously in a relationship with model Kaia Gerber for three years before splitting in January. Kravitz, 36, called off her engagement to Channing Tatum in October 2024 after three years together.
