Bachelor Nation Stars Supporting Clayton Echard After Ex Gabby Windey Criticized His Dancing

Several familiar Bachelor Nation faces have come to Clayton Echard’s defense after ex Gabby Windey criticized his dance moves.
Days after Windey appeared on the “Las Culturistas” podcast and said Echard’s dancing videos “will make you run … you’ll wish you didn’t have eyes,” the former Bachelor called her remarks “bullying.”
“There’s no other way around it,” Echard said on Instagram. “You’re attacking me for my physical appearance, you’re attacking me for a passion that I love that’s changed my life. It’s unnecessary and it’s not funny. You have such a large platform and you’re setting a really bad example, which is just disheartening. I don’t want people to be scared to try something new because [of] bullying online, like what you’re doing. Do better, Gabby.”
Windey appeared on Echard’s season 26 of The Bachelor, where he ultimately sent her and Rachel Recchia packing to pursue a relationship with Susie Evans. Echard and Evans revealed their relationship status in the After the Final Rose episode, but called it quits for good in 2022.
While Echard received support from fans for his video, other commenters claimed that Windey didn’t mean any harm with her remarks. “I really think she was just being cheeky and sarcastic in the podcast,” one user wrote. “I do agree she took it too far, but I don’t think that was her intention.”
Scroll down to see which Bachelor Nation stars are supporting Echard:
Joan Vassos
The Golden Bachelorette season 1 lead wrote in Echard’s comments section, “It’s shocking that anyone feels it’s OK to bully but especially adults who know better. I’m sure Gabby thought she was being entertaining and funny but it’s not when it’s at the expense of someone else’s feelings. What kind of example are we showing the youth of today when someone they look up to and admire because they had the privilege to be on tv acts like this. They are learning from us and we need to be better. Thank you Clayton for speaking out and keep on dancing my friend!”
Thomas Jacobs
While referencing Windey referring to Echard as a “toe,” the Bachelor in Paradise alum wrote in the comments section of the former Bachelor’s post, “If you were a toe, I’d paint you first 🫶🏽.”
Dotun Olubeko
Olubeko, who’s engaged to former Bachelorette Charity Lawson, wrote in Echard’s comments section, “Now that’s how you handle it my guy 👏 mad respect. Keep doing you Clayton.”
Kelley Flanagan
Flanagan, who previously vied for the affections of Peter Weber, commented, “Keep doing you Clayton! ❤️.”
