Back to the Future’s Crispin Glover Reportedly Sued for Battery, Fraud and Emotional Distress by Ex-Girlfriend
Back to the Future star Crispin Glover was accused of battery and assault by an ex-girlfriend in a new complaint.
According to multiple outlets, Glover is being sued for battery, fraud, wrongful eviction, malicious prosecution and intentional infliction of emotional distress. The ex’s complaint also mentioned alleged violations of the Bane Act, California’s civil rights law.
The filing claims Glover, 61, was involved in a “disturbing series of incidents in which Jane Doe was essentially held captive and used for sex and free labor by Mr. Glover under false pretenses.”
The accuser, a model from the U.K., claimed Glover made “strange advances” toward her after they first interacted on social media in 2015. They met in person eight years later.
The meeting allegedly took place in Dresden, Germany, with Jane Doe claiming Glover “showed off several items of Nazi memorabilia from his collection.” She went on to allege that she was “groomed” by the actor, who made “promises of a new life where she could start over and have a career in the entertainment industry through some sort of business relationship with him.”
Glover allegedly told the woman he would set her up with a home and a job if she moved to Los Angeles to work as his assistant. Once in California, she allegedly “found herself in a disturbing situation where Mr. Glover wanted to control her actions and track her whereabouts and basically serve him as a live in girlfriend/sex slave.”
Jane Doe “relied entirely on Mr. Glover’s promises for money and shelter,” according to the complaint. She claims Glover locked her out of the house “without notice or warning of any kind, rendering her homeless” on March 2, 2024, after she left to go to a mosque.
When Jane Doe returned to the home, Glover allegedly “attacked her, grabbing her neck and choking her in a headlock, leaving a visible wound and scar on her neck.”
Glover was accused of filing a “false police report” against Jane Doe in addition to a restraining order that caused “permanent damage” to her reputation. The woman claimed Glover has since continued to “harass” her.
Jane Doe is requesting a jury trial to determine special and general damages and costs for the lawsuit and attorneys’ fees.
Glover’s rep addressed the allegations in a statement to TMZ on Wednesday, February 25, claiming, “The reality is that on March 2, 2024, Mr. Glover was the victim of an unprovoked felony assault by Jane Doe at his Los Angeles residence. Mr. Glover called LAPD, which came to the scene, investigated, and arrested Jane Doe.”
The statement continued: “These facts are documented by law enforcement records and by the restraining order filed by Mr. Glover against Jane Doe at that time. Mr. Glover intends to vigorously defend himself and pursue all available relief. He is confident the judicial process will expose this lawsuit as a meritless fabrication.”
