BAFTA TV Awards – Lorraine Kelly clutches gong as she leads bleary-eyed stars leaving after-parties

Lorraine Kelly certainly enjoyed her big night at the 2024 BAFTA TV Awards, with the ITV presenter seen clutching her gong and looking all partied-out as she headed home.
The ITV presenter, who was presented with a special honour at the glitzy bash last night, wasn’t the only star her enjoyed the event’s after-parties, with Love Island star Georgia Harrison, Davina McCall, Hollyoaks star Jorgie Porter and Ant McPartlin all looking a little worse for wear in the early hours of this morning.
The BAFTA TV Awards 2024 saw all the favourites of television tune in, as Top Boy and the BBC nabbed the most gongs. All the brightest stars of TV gathered at London’s Royal Festival Hall last night. RuPaul’s Drag Race legend Michelle Visage and funnyman Tom Allen handled red carpet live stream duties, while comedians Rob Beckett and Romesh Ranganathan took the reins as hosts for the evening.
A host of deserving talents were up for honours, with nods going to Bella Ramsey for The Last of Us, Sharon Horgan for Best Interests, and Dominic West for The Crown. Lorraine Kelly was presented a special gong by Succession actor Brian Cox, in honour of the ITV star’s steller TV career.
She made a heartfelt appeal at an awards ceremony for more opportunities for “kids like me” from working-class backgrounds to break into the TV industry. She urged: “Don’t pull up the ladder”, as she expressed gratitude for her award. During her speech, she imparted some wisdom, saying, “I suppose if I’ve learned anything at all over the past 40 years, it’s what’s the point of having all that experience if you don’t actually share it, and if you don’t actually pass it on, and help other people.”
She continued: “So I would just say don’t pull up the ladder, please make it possible for kids like me from my background, from a very working class Glasgow background, rise the same from Dundee. We’ve had amazing opportunities, but I just want everyone to have those opportunities the same that we did.”
