Bam Margera interrupts his own wedding reception to attend court hearing with ex via Zoom

Bam Margera was a buzzkill at his own wedding to Dannii Marie when he interrupted the reception to attend a court hearing with his ex Nicole “Nikki” Boyd via Zoom amid their ongoing trial.
Sources told TMZ Wednesday that the “Viva La Bam” star, 44, wanted to fulfill his legal obligations — despite Tuesday being his and Marie’s big day.
“Whatever makes him happy. I’m happy for him. But it was curious timing, considering that he was supposed to be in court for our trial today,” Boyd, 40, told the outlet.
The mother of one — who shares 6-year-old son Phoenix with Margera — reportedly found out during a break in the proceedings that her ex had gotten married just before his virtual appearance.
According to insiders, Margera and his new bride picked out the date for their nuptials last October — prior to a court schedule being set.
However, when the trial eventually got pushed back, that’s when the scheduling conflict occurred.
Per TMZ, the case that was being tried Wednesday had to do with the exes’ ongoing dispute over whether they were ever actually married or not — and not their separate custody battle regarding their son.
In May 2023, Margera filed to dismiss Boyd’s request for a legal separation, claiming that the former couple’s October 2013 wedding in Iceland was not legal and that his ex “knew and understood” that.
Boyd’s attorney, David Glass, said in an exclusive statement to Page Six at the time, “As an initial matter, it was not until just recently that Nikki had ever heard Bam’s claim that they were never married.
“She was told that the wedding would occur in Iceland and that it was all taken care of. She had a wedding ceremony, and then returned to the U.S. and lived like a married couple with Bam for years.”
He further argued that because his client in “good faith” believed she was married to Margera, then “at the very least,” she should considered a “putative spouse” under California law and be “entitled to division of property and spousal support, in addition to child custody and support.”
Glass added to TMZ Wednesday that because these legal issues are still pending, “It seems like a little restraint on Mr. Margera’s might do him good.”
Margera and Marie will have another chance to have the reception of their dreams, though, as the “Jackass” alum announced via Instagram Tuesday that their New Mexico wedding is just the first of two.
He wrote, “To all family and friends there will be a November wedding in Pennsylvania for everyone with a @yelawolf performance!”
