Barack, Michelle Obama’s youngest daughter Sasha makes rare appearance with parents at basketball game
Barack and Michelle Obama enjoyed a night out with their daughter, Sasha, at NBA All-Star Weekend.
The family — minus eldest daughter, Malia Obama, 27 — sat courtside for the big game on Feb. 15 at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, Calif., according to Michelle and Barack’s joint Instagram post on Sunday.
The former First Lady, 62, wore a black jacket and dark navy-blue pants as she sat alongside her husband, who sported a dark blue jacket over a black T-shirt and gray jeans.
Sasha, 24, on the other hand, was pictured sitting behind the couple coordinating with her father in a gray outfit.
“My favorite teammates on and off the court,” the parents captioned the snap.
In another photo taken at the event, Barack and Michelle posed for pictures with NBA star Stephen Curry and his wife, Ayesha.
The couple’s daughters typically stay out of the spotlight aside from the occasional public sighting with their family.
However, their mother has shared intimate details of their lives on her “IMO” podcast, which she co-hosts with her brother, Craig Robinson.
In August, Michelle revealed that Barack, 64, found his youngest daughter to be more “difficult” when it came to parenting.
“I’d say this to Barack, when it comes to, you know, [our] oldest, Malia, she is going to figure out who you are, what do you like and let’s discuss it,” Michelle said at the time, adding that it was an “unusual” characteristic for a teen.
“When Malia was a teenager, it wasn’t that she was going out any less or doing anything differently,” Michelle said. “She would tell me, ‘I’m going out this weekend, but I’m going to go in and give dad like 15 minutes.’”
But unlike Malia, Michelle compared Sasha to “a cat.”
“She’s like, ‘Don’t touch me, don’t pet me. I’m not pleasing you. You come to me,” Michelle explained. She added that Barack called Sasha “difficult,” which, in turn, prompted Michelle to explain that their youngest was just not a people “pleaser” like their eldest.
Michelle added that parents “have to be a chameleon” and adjust to different temperaments.
