Ben Affleck Was in a ‘Great Mood’ at Dinner While Jennifer Lopez Was in Mexico City for Premiere: Source

Ben Affleck appeared relaxed at a dinner in Santa Monica, Calif., amid recent marital strain with his wife Jennifer Lopez.

The actor, 51, was seen stepping out at the restaurant Giorgio Baldi with a group on May 21, with his wedding ring on full display.

“He was in a great mood,” a source tells PEOPLE of Affleck’s outing. “He seemed very relaxed and happy. Everyone chatted and seemed to enjoy.”

A separate insider says Affleck has “been busy filming this week too,” working on The Accountant 2, a sequel to his 2016 action film.

“He’s professional and shows up early on the set,” the insider says. “He seems focused and ready to work when he arrives. He looks very happy and is super friendly with everyone on set.”

Affleck’s dinner outing came while Lopez, 54, attended the red carpet premiere of her new Netflix movie Atlas in Mexico City. Lopez also appeared solo at the movie’s premiere in Los Angeles on May 20, while Affleck continued filming.

Lopez was upbeat at the Atlas events. A video Netflix Latinoamérica shared on Instagram from the premiere showed her greeting the audience in Spanish alongside costar Simu Liu. “Enjoy the movie, thank you for coming out tonight. We really hope that you have a good time,” she told the crowd.

The This Is Me… Now singer also shared a photo of herself lounging on a couch in the same white Chloé ruffled dress she wore to the premiere on Instagram, writing in a caption, “¡Viva Mexico! 🇲🇽 @NetflixLat @Netflix #Atlas in 3 Days.”

Multiple sources recently told PEOPLE that Affleck and Lopez are not currently living together in Los Angeles. The couple, who married in 2022 after rekindling their relationship from, were seen together in public on May 16 for the first time since March 30.

Another source connected to Lopez recently said the couple’s marriage “is not in the best place at the moment.”

Lopez and Affleck share a blended family, including Max and Emme, the 16-year-old twins she shares with ex-husband Marc Anthony, and Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12, whom Affleck shares with ex-wife Jennifer Garner.
