An overeager Billie Eilish concertgoer crossed a line — and the barricade — on Thursday, Oct. 9 at the singer’s Miami show.
Eilish, 23, was walking and jogging through the crowd at the Kaseya Center, high-fiving fans as she passed. However, she was momentarily stopped when one concert goer grabbed her, violently yanking her backwards and into the barricade.
Eilish broke free from the person as members of her security team rushed to intervene, flipping her hair back in place and continuing her journey to the stage.

The moment was captured by multiple fans and on the jumbotron at the arena from a variety of angles. In several clips the alleged assailant appears to be a man wearing a black hoodie and baseball cap.
Concert goer Drew Wintjen captured the moment on video, telling PEOPLE it was “Insane!” and adding, “Hate that someone would do something like that to such a queen.”
Wintjen said that Eilish didn’t let the moment stop her from the rest of the show.
“She just kept going and acted like it never happened like a true professional!” he notes.
PEOPLE has reached out to Eilish for comment on the incident but has not heard back.
Thursday’s show marked Eilish’s return for the second leg of her Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour. Her last live performance was on Aug. 17 in Tokyo. She has two more scheduled dates in Miami on Oct. 11 and Oct. 12 before moving on to Orlando and up the East Coast. The tour will wrap up on Nov. 23 in San Francisco.
This isn’t the first time Eilish has been physically assaulted while performing. In December 2024, she was hit in the face while sitting cross-legged on the stage and singing her hit song “What I Was Made For” from the Barbie soundtrack.
In clips shown online, Eilish was struck by what appeared to be a bracelet in the middle of the song, prompting boos from other concert goers. She kept singing the track, tossing the item back into the crowd as she did.
During the Barbie world premiere in July 2023, Eilish told The Hollywood Reporter that she has been getting hit on stage for “literally six years,” as she urged fans not to throw items.
“People just get excited, and it can be dangerous,” she explained.
“It’s absolutely infuriating when you’re up there,” Eilish added. “I have mixed feelings about it because when you’re up there, it blows. But you know it’s out of love, and they’re just trying to give you something. You’re in a vulnerable position, but I’ve been getting hit with stuff for years.”
