Billionaire scion Alex Soros slums it in business class after Davos

Spies spotted the son of lefty billionaire George Soros slumming it on a Swiss International Air flight Friday afternoon, seated in business class no less, while traveling back from Switzerland where he was attending the World Economic Forum in Davos.

One reason for Alex’s déclassé travel arrangements might be the weather.

About 40 states are likely to get slammed by a catastrophic winter storm this weekend. Many of Davos attendees have been scrabbling to get out of town or face being stuck there indefinitely to deal with the town’s lousy German-Swiss food and poor internet service.

The younger Soros, 40, was dressed casually, seated without his wife, former Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin. He’s the chairman of the progressive Open Society Foundation created by his 95-year-old financial speculator father.

He also helps run the Soros family office which manages his father’s enormous net worth. During the week in the Alps, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent mocked California governor and presidential hopeful Gavin Newsom for hanging out with Soros, calling the scion Newsom’s “billionaire sugar daddy.”
