Bobbi Althoff Addresses Insecurities After ‘Botched’ Botox: I Don’t Need to ‘Critique Every Little Part’
Bobbi Althoff got candid about her body image insecurities and embracing her appearance while giving an update on her “botched” Botox procedure to treat chronic jaw pain.
Before social media transparency about cosmetic tweaks and plastic surgery procedures, the podcaster, 28, said she would see “people who looked perfect, and I assumed that they just were born that way.”
Althoff revealed that she’s come to see her earlier insecurities differently — and with far more compassion. She noted, “I think a lot of people just get stuff done, especially in L.A.”
“I think the one thing it does do is I think it helps people be more happy with how they were born and be happy with what they already had because it’s like, look at how wrong it can go,” she told People in a newly published interview on Tuesday, December 30. “It definitely has helped me appreciate what I naturally look like more because I will look back at pictures of me before I even touched my face and I’m like, ‘Oh, I don’t know why I was so upset with how I looked or why I wanted to change this, because I used to like how I looked.’”
She spoke out about body image while promoting her lingerie campaign in Adore Me’s 2026 Valentine’s Day Collection, featuring this year’s theme “Leave Your Mark With Kisses.”
The influencer recently got Botox to help treat her jaw issues, admitting that she felt anxious about how her face would appear in front of the camera during the photo shoot.
She had a bad experience after getting “20 units of Botox” in her chin in November 2023, telling her followers on TikTok that she would never get the injections again but had a change of heart when she began experiencing “bad jaw problems.”
“I couldn’t smile at all,” she explained in an update after a recent “botched” Botox session left her face paralyzed. “I felt so crazy, like I couldn’t smile. But I feel [the photos] still turned out really, really good.”
Althoff — a mom of two who shares daughters Luca, 5, and Isla, 3, with ex-husband Cory Althoff — noted that she has faced scrutiny online as well as cruel remarks about her appearance while in the public eye. (The exes finalized their divorce in August 2024 after four years of marriage).
“I used to read every comment section about me,” she confessed. “And now if I see something, I just scroll past it.”
She heeded advice from others in the limelight on how to overcome the criticism, revealing “a lot of therapy” helped. “I had a lot of people reach out to me who are celebrities and they were like, ‘You’ve really got to stop reading comments. It’s not healthy.’”
As part of her new year’s resolution, Althoff vowed to not look in the mirror “as much” or dwell on insecurities. She added, “I wanna touch some grass and realize that I don’t need to sit there and critique every little part of myself.”
