‘Bold and the Beautiful’ Stars Darin Brooks and Kelly Kruger Split After Nearly 10 Years of Marriage

The Bold and Beautiful stars Darin Brooks and Kelly Kruger have split after nearly a decade of marriage.

“We’re committed to coparenting our two children and remaining friends,” the pair told TV Insider in a Monday, March 2 joint statement.

The outlet also reported that Brooks, 41, and Kruger, 43, have filed for divorce.

Brooks and Kruger met in 2010 while working on the series Blue Mountain State. Brooks starred on the comedy as quarterback Alex, while Kruger guest-starred as Julie. The pair started dating that same year.

“We became best friends, and for a good three to six months she was telling me who to date,” Brooks told Soaps.com of his and Kruger’s romance in 2016. “We were spending so much time together, and one day I just grabbed her head, and I kissed her.”

Before joining Blue Mountain State, both Brooks and Kruger had experience working on soap operas. Brooks began his acting career on Days of Our Lives, where he played Max Brady, from 2005 to 2010. He won a Daytime Emmy for his performance in 2009.

Kruger, for her part, appeared on The Young and the Restless as Mackenzie Browning from 2002 to 2003. (She reprised her role from 2018 to 2019.)

Brooks returned to the soap opera world when he joined the Bold and the Beautiful cast in 2013 as Wyatt Spencer. The following year, Kruger joined the cast as publicist Eva.

In 2016, Brooks and Kruger tied the knot in Hawaii. Following their nuptials, the pair opened about how they navigated life as newlyweds.

“The first year of marriage is no joke,” Kruger recalled in a 2019 interview with Soap Opera Digest. “It really is the hardest …. I was always so anti-marriage for so long. And then I married him, and I was like, ‘Marriage is amazing.’ But it’s hard, it’s work.”

Brooks added that it was important that both of them worked on their relationship.

“Yeah, you both have to work. It’s not like anybody has to work more than the other. Both people have to work,” he said.

Kruger and Brooks welcomed their first child, daughter Everleigh Jolie, in September 2019. Before bringing home their daughter, Kruger struggled with fertility issues.

“It’s so funny, every time I would think, ‘OK, maybe now’s a good time,’ I would book a job,” Kruger told Soap Opera Digest in 2019. “So, we kept looking at it as a sign, like, not yet. And then finally, right around the time when [returning to] Y&R came around, I was like, ‘Oh, we should start trying.’ And it didn’t happen. I thought when you try to get pregnant, if you’re healthy, you just get pregnant… Once we went to the doctor to get all of our tests done, the doctor was like, ‘You’re totally fine. Chill out. You are healthy. Everything is good.’”

The duo expanded their family with daughter Gemma Wynter in January 2022.
