Brendan Fraser says the fourth installment of The Mummy franchise will finally “give the fans what they want.”

Fraser, 56, opened up about the upcoming fourth film in the franchise in a new interview with the Associated Press. “The one I wanted to make was never made,” he elaborated on the hit action-adventure films.

“I’m proud of the third one because I think it’s a good standalone movie,” the Oscar winner told the outlet. “We picked up and did what we do with a different crew on deck and gave it our best shot. But the one I wanted to make is forthcoming. And I’ve been waiting 20 years for this call. Sometimes it was loud, sometimes it was a faint telegraph. Now? It’s time to give the fans what they want.”

The Mummy cast had a major reunion in July, 26 years after the first film’s 1999 release.

Fraser (Rick O’Connell), Patricia Velásquez (Anck-Su-Namun), John Hannah (Jonathan Carnahan) and Oded Fehr (Ardeth Bay) were photographed together at the 2025 Fan Expo Denver on July 6.

Noticeably absent from the photo opp was Rachel Weisz (Evelyn Carnahan) and Arnold Vosloo (Imhotep, the titular Mummy). While Weisz was not present for the reunion, she is reportedly in talks to join the fourth film, according to Deadline and The Hollywood Reporter.

Radio Silence duo Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett are reportedly expected to direct the movie. They previously directed recent horror films like Ready or Not, the Scream reboots and Abigail.

Plot details and a potential release date for the film have not been revealed.
