Brooklyn Beckham Says Asking Nicola Peltz to Marry Him Was the ‘Best Decision Ever’ Amid Family Feud

Brooklyn Beckham is celebrating five years since he asked Nicola Peltz to be his wife.

“It’s been 5 years since I asked this beautiful woman to marry me xx best decision ever x I love you so much ❤️,” the Cloud23 hot sauce founder captioned a sweet selfie with Nicola shared via Instagram on Monday, June 23.

In the pic, Peltz, 30, can be seen taking a mirror selfie with her dark brunette hair in rollers. Brooklyn, 26, stood behind his wife, planting a kiss on her cheek.

Brooklyn’s tribute to his wife comes amid ongoing family drama among the Beckhams that boiled over around the time of his dad David Beckham’s 50th birthday in early May. Brooklyn’s siblings, Romeo, 22, Cruz, 20, and Harper, 13, all attended a black-tie dinner in London and a lavish birthday party at the Beckhams’ home in the Cotswolds.

A source exclusively told Us Weekly at the time that the couple were trying to avoid interacting with Brooklyn’s brother Romeo and his then-girlfriend, Kim Turnbull. Brooklyn and Nicola requested a “separate meet-up” to celebrate David’s birthday, but he and his wife, Victoria Beckham, declined the offer, said the source.

A separate insider told Us that there is also some lingering tension between Nicola and Victoria, 51, noting that the “bad blood” dates back to before Brooklyn and Nicola wed in April 2022.

“Things never really got smoothed over, and you can tell it still affects everyone,” the source explained. “The tension is still present and it’s hard for Brooklyn at times. Brooklyn’s having a tough time with it. He’s super stubborn and just wants space from his family right now.”

The insider added: “He completely supports and stands by Nicola, and it has put a rift in his relationship with his parents. Nicola is outspoken and that is what has caused tension with his parents. She will defend Brooklyn a lot and is defensive. Brooklyn will always be on Nicola’s side, and that’s made things even more tense between him and his parents.”

Amid the family drama, Brooklyn’s youngest brother, Cruz, appeared to take a shot at him in a recent social media comment.

On Sunday, June 22, Cruz posted a video via TikTok of himself playing the guitar and performing his song “For Ya Love.”

“Are you going to stick with this job or going to become a race car driver next or something?” one follower commented on the video.

“Wrong brother mate,” Cruz responded, appearing to refer to Brooklyn, who has dabbled with a variety of professional pursuits over the years, including photography, cooking and, yes, race car driving.
