For Bruce Springsteen, watching his life being depicted in the upcoming biopic Deliver Me From Nowhere wasn’t all that stressful.

The same, he admitted, cannot be said for Jeremy Allen White — the actor playing him.

Speaking to Rolling Stone, Springsteen opened up about the making of the movie, explaining that he and White established boundaries for when he wanted to watch filming.

According to the “Born in the U.S.A.” singer, he told White to “give me the look and I’m on my way home” if he ever got in the way of a scene. “I’m sure it was much worse for the actor than for me,” he said, adding that White “was very, very tolerant of me the days that I would appear on set.”

“So the days that I got out there, he was wonderfully tolerant with me being there,” he recalled. “And it was just fun. It was enjoyable.”

Springsteen noted that he tried to avoid days when some of the “really deeply personal” parts of his life were being acted out.

“I mean, there’s some unusualness to it because the movie involves, in some ways, some of the most painful days of my life,” he said.

When those tough moments came up, Springsteen said he would “just stay at home” because he wanted the actors “to feel completely free, and I didn’t want to get in the way.”

Though he tried to keep a balance between being present and giving the film some space, the rocker said if Scott Cooper, the film’s writer-director, “wanted or needed me there for anything, I would try to make it.”

20th Century Studios released the trailer for Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere on Wednesday, June 18.

The trailer showed how the film aims to explore Springsteen’s life as he records his landmark sixth studio album, 1982’s Nebraska.

It even shows footage of White singing the music icon’s 1975 classic “Born to Run.”

According to the film’s synopsis, it dives into a time in Springsteen’s life “when he was a young musician on the cusp of global superstardom, struggling to reconcile the pressures of success with the ghosts of his past.” It explores how Nebraska “marked a pivotal time in his life and is considered one of his most enduring works — a raw, haunted acoustic record populated by lost souls searching for a reason to believe.”

The film also stars Jeremy Strong, Paul Walter Hauser, Stephen Graham, Odessa Young, Gaby Hoffman, Marc Maron and David Krumholtz.

Deliver Me From Nowhere opens in theaters Oct. 24.
