Celebratory mood at Mar-a-Lago despite market drop after Trump’s ‘Liberation Day’ tariffs: ‘Felt like a rally’

As the country reels over President Donald Trump’s tariffs, it’s a party at the “winter White House.”

A source tells Page Six that on Thursday — the night after “Liberation Day,” when Trump announced his sweeping tariff plan —  there was a celebratory mood at Mar-A-Lago in Palm Beach.

“Members and their guests were in great spirits despite the total collapse of the stock market,” says a source.

Following Trump’s announcement the S&P 500 and Nasdaq had the sharpest one day declines since the pandemic, according to reports.

But we hear those hobnobbing at the private club were optimistic.

Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, who has been on the press circuit defending the tariffs, even got a standing ovation when he walked in, according to the source.

“It felt like a rally,” says the source, who noted that this was before the market crashed again on Friday.

The spy tells us that singer Andy Ross — who recently launched his American Rebel Light Beer at Kid Rock’s Big Ass Honky Tonk and Rock ‘n’ Roll Steakhouse in Nashville, Tenn. — was heard telling a table of wealthy investors that the new tariffs were a blessing for his American-made brand.

Entrepreneur Unik Ernest and other guests were also overheard talking about economic policy.

Also making the rounds, we hear, were Argentina President Javier Milei, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, and Donald Trump Jr.’s ex fiancée and now-Ambassador to Greece, Kimberly Guilfoyle, who were attending the American Patriots Gala in the ballroom.

Donald Trump himself tried to stop by the event, said the source, following his day in Doral for LIV Golf.

But we hear there was a snag!

The source tells us a DJ played Trump’s favorites by the Village People before Trump was about to enter, but it created too big a stir with the crowd.

“They kept playing his songs and people would not sit. They were all mobbing at the door where he was supposed to come in,” says the spy.

“Security was telling people to please sit and they wouldn’t. They told people it was not secure for the president to come in.”

Trump was, however, seen mingling later in the members area of the club.
