Charlie Puth is going to jazz things up this fall.

On Tuesday, Sept. 9, the “Light Switch” singer announced a limited residency at the Blue Note Jazz Club’s New York and Los Angeles locations.

Fans can expect the show called Whatever’s Clever to be an “intimate run to become a truly memorable one for the books,” per a press release.

“I’m so excited to announce the Whatever’s Clever! Residency at @bluenotenyc & @bluenotelosangeles 🎵,” Puth, 33, captioned an Instagram video where he gave fans more informations about the upcoming shows. “This is the most intimate way I could think of showing what I’ve been working on!!!”

“I started my career playing for a couple hundred people a night,” he said in the clip.

“And it’s been a while since I’ve done it, but I wanna do it again. It’s gonna be me and the band, and we’re gonna play a lot of music just like in the beginning. Some songs you already know, and some songs you haven’t heard yet.”

The Berklee classical and jazz-trained musician added that the shows will start off in New York in late September before making its way to Los Angeles in October.

“Two shows a night. 2015 was the last time I did a show like this, so, I’m so excited to be doing this again. I can’t wait to see you all.”

An artist presale for the tickets begins on Wednesday, Sept. 10 at 10 a.m. local time. The general sale kicks off on Friday, Sept. 12 at 10 a.m. local time. Fans can signup for the presale at WhateversClever.world.

In 2018, Puth released the album Voicenotes and told PEOPLE about how it was different from his first album and how jazz inspired him this time around.

“These ‘romantic’ songs weren’t what I was thinking at the time. It wasn’t truly what my personality was and what I was surrounding myself with. It wasn’t what I was going through. I wasn’t in love, and that’s why these songs didn’t sound right; it took some acting to perform those songs.”

“I was unapologetically myself in this album. I was just tired of faking it. I was really happy at the success of ‘Attention’ because it was my personality in a song. Voicenotes is more me because it’s inspired by the music I grew up listening to: jazz and R&B.”
