Cher, 79, set to marry boyfriend Alexander ‘AE’ Edwards, 39: report

Cher is ready to walk down the aisle again.

Nearly 50 years after the end of her second marriage, the singer is reportedly set to tie the knot with her boyfriend Alexander “AE” Edwards ahead of her 80th birthday in May.

“Cher doesn’t give a hoot about their [40-year] age difference and they’re both ready to commit to each other,” an insider told the Mirror.

“She sees her upcoming celebration at turning 80 as the perfect time for her and Alexander to seal the deal,” the insider said.

Reps for Cher and Edwards didn’t immediately respond to Page Six’s requests for comment.

The “If I Could Turn Back Time” songstress previously shrugged off criticism over her and the 39-year-old’s age gap during a November appearance on “CBS Mornings.”

“Whatever,” she told interviewer Gayle King, responding to critics. “They’re not living my life. Nobody knows what goes on between us, but we just have a blast.”

The “Believe” singer added that age hasn’t been an issue with Edwards either, saying that the music executive tells her, “You know, you get older, but your spirit is younger.”

The singer further gushed over their three-year romance as she shared how they “laugh all the time,”

“I just love him,” she said. “I think he’s beautiful. He’s really talented. He’s one of the most talented persons I’ve ever met.”

The couple was first romantically linked in November 2022 when they were seen holding hands in Los Angeles.

Days later, Cher defended the relationship after making things social media official.

Via X, the singer hosted an online Q&A where she told one of her followers, “Let Me Explain…I DONT GIVE A [flying] FK WHAT ANYONE THINKS.”

“I’m Not Defending Us. Haters are Gonna Hate…Doesn’t Matter That we’re Happy & Not Bothering Anyone.”

Cher and Edwards later made their red carpet debut with a PDA-packed entrance at the Versace fall 2023 fashion show in March 2023.

Prior to her relationship with Edwards, Cher was married to Sonny Bono from 1964 to 1975 and Gregg Allman from 1975 to 1979. She has also famously dated Val Kilmer, Gene Simmons and Tom Cruise.
