Chris Licht mixes with CNN anchors, narrowly misses Don Lemon at Mediaite anniversary party
Former CNN boss Chris Licht narrowly missed his ex-anchor Don Lemon at Mediaite’s 15th anniversary party at Bryant Park Grill, sources tell Page Six exclusively.
Licht infamously let Lemon go last year before he also was ousted at the news network in a Warner Bros. Discovery shake-up.
We hear Licht did run into other CNN staffers at Wednesday’s bash and “spoke to a few of them” as he made the rounds, though “some of CNN’s on-air talent were less excited to see him and studiously avoided him,” a spy tells us.
Otherwise it was a media love-in presided over by Mediaite founder Dan Abrams and editor in chief Aidan McLaughlin.
“Cross-network comity was at an all-time high!” says a spy.
Another adds that Joe Scarborough and Steve Doocy greeted each other in a temporary truce between MSNBC and Fox News.
“Joe grabbed him and pulled him over to the step-and-repeat for a photo as soon as he saw him,” we hear, while Doocy also chatted and took pictures with CNN’s Kaitlan Collins.
Megyn Kelly chatted with former Fox colleague Julie Banderas, and Bill O’Reilly talked to CNN’s anchors.
Geraldo Rivera was hanging with Sunny Hostin and Jim Acosta. Also schmoozing were Ben Sherwood, Pat Kiernan, Ari Melber, Abby Phillip, Andrew Ross Sorkin, John Berman and Elie Honig.
