Chrissy Teigen Claps Back in Defense of Her ‘Coconut Milk Bath’ With 3 of Her Kids
Chrissy Teigen is not here for haters infringing on her family bathtime — and has no qualms calling them out.
Teigen, 39, uploaded a handful of family photos to her Instagram on Saturday, February 8, with the caption, “BAHHHHHHHHHHH.”
In the first photo, Teigen posed in a bathtub with son Miles, 6, daughter Esti, 2, and son Wren, 19 months, all of whom she shares with husband John Legend. (Teigen and Legend, 46, also share eldest daughter Luna, 8.)
Teigen’s sweet family photo soon elicited a fan question about why the Cravings founder was “always in dirty bathwater.”
“It’s a coconut milk bath for sensitive skin but go off,” Teigen fired back in the comments section, denying the speculation.
While Teigen has not further addressed the online criticism, she and Legend both take their skincare routines very seriously.
“Something unexplainable happens to your skin [after having kids]. My skin never used to be as sensitive as it is now. I used to go to town on chemical peels and extractions,” she previously told Refinery29 in 2019. “One super indulgent thing I do is PRP blood facials with Dr. Jason Diamond. They are nice, but it doesn’t need to be a day-to-day part of my routine. It’s important to have a regular routine that’s not that aggressive or harsh on the skin.”
Legend, for his part, has even jokingly been referred to as a vampire since fans often think his skin has stayed the same throughout the years.
“I have heard that vampire rumor! It’s not true, of course, but I do take care of my skin,” the EGOT winner exclusively told Us Weekly in June 2019. “I do cleanse and moisturize and exfoliate and do all those things that I think will help me stay healthy. I do think I was probably blessed with some good genes, too, because my parents have great skin.”
Legend is now passing on his best tricks to the fans after launching his skincare brand, Loved1, in 2023.
“When you’re a kid, you’re taught to shower and put lotion on your body,” he told The Cut in January 2023. “As Black people, we’re always worried about being ashy. We had Vaseline, we had all the lotions, but I think no one told us we lose moisture faster than everyone else.”
He added, “As a singer, I always feel like I’m killing two birds with one stone by drinking a lot of water and resting because I’m helping my voice and my skin.”
