Chrissy Teigen reveals 12-year marriage secret with John Legend
Chrissy Teigen revealed that hiding her bodily functions has kept har marriage to John Legend alive for 12 years.
“For all he knows, I have never farted or pooped,” the model told E! News at a Netflix event on Tuesday.
The cookbook author, 40, added, “You got to keep the sexy and preserve the sexy in a little bit of ways. I won’t say that John necessarily does that all the time, but I make sure that I do.”
Sarah Michelle Gellar added during the joint interview — which took place at “The Rundown” premiere — that “separate bathrooms” have kept her 23-year marriage to Freddie Prinze, Jr. alive.
Teigen and the “All of You” hitmaker, 47, married in 2013 and have since welcomed kids Luna, 9, Miles, 7, and 2-year olds Esti and Wren.
The parents of four renewed their vows in a romantic, star-studded ceremony in Italy in 2023 on their 10th wedding anniversary.
Back in 2018, Teigen once again shared advice for a solid marriage amid raising then-toddler Luna and looking toward the birth of Milo.
“I think it’s really important to be complete partners in crime,” she told Well+Good at the time.
“I love the mentality of ‘us against the world.’ Even when you have kids, never forget your relationship as partners and lovers—that’s so important.”
Teigen added that even when Luna was acting up, “it’s important to be able to look at each other and be like, ‘We created this thing and we’re going to solve it together,’” she shared.
“Sometimes I don’t want to make John feel good and I’m sure he has the same with me, but it’s my keen advice to do it anyway.”
Teigen and Gellar’s intimate tips on keeping a marriage intact aren’t the only celebrity offerings on the topic.
In September, Matthew McConaughey divulged that a smaller mattress is the key to a stronger partnership with wife Camilla Alvez.
“I wake up one morning … I’m looking over there and Camilla’s like a football field away man,” he told Fox News Digital of owning a king sized bed.
“Then you go to bed at night, like you want to snuggle up and …’Well, we’ve got to cover you up. Come about 12 feet and I’ll come 12 feet,’” the “Dallas Buyers Club” actor continued.
“Get rid of that son of a bitch,” he concluded of larger beds. “So we got a queen size where we’re shoulder to shoulder. I’m telling you, it’s good for your marriage.”
