Ciara made “One Short Day” special for her daughter Sienna’s birthday.

The singer, 39, hosted a Wicked-themed birthday party for Sienna, who turned 8 on Monday, April 28. Sienna donned green face paint and an all-black outfit paired with round glasses, as worn by Elphaba Thropp as a child at the beginning of the Oscar-nominated 2024 film.

Cynthia Erivo, who played the adult Elphaba in the film, made a surprise appearance at the party via FaceTime, as seen in Ciara’s Instagram video. She sang her famous final note of “Defying Gravity,” the song that concludes Wicked: Part One.

The party also included face painting, bubbles, and more. The singer wore a similar Elphaba-inspired look with a black witch’s hat, while her husband, New York Giants quarterback Russell Wilson, dressed as Fiyero, who was played by Jonathan Bailey in the film. At one point in the video, Sienna is seen recreating the “toss, toss” scene from the film with her friends.

“Wicked Birthday for our Princess Sienna! The Big 8! Sienna, you are beyond amazing and the sweetest daughter anyone could ask for,” Ciara wrote.

“You have the biggest heart and it feels our heart with joy to see how much your family and friends love you!” Ciara continued. “The love, confidence, and excellence you radiate makes everyone feel like they’re Defying Gravity! Happy Birthday SiSi! @DangeRussWilson and I love you so much!..And @CynthiaErivo you are beyond!🧙‍♀️🎂.”

The singer later shared a humorous video of herself recreating the broom-riding scene from Wicked, set to the tune of her recently released song “Ecstasy.” She captioned the post, “Y’all I had to do it 😂🧙‍♀️🧹.”

The 2024 film adaptation of Stephen Schwartz’ long-running Broadway musical of the same name is based on Gregory Maguire’s 1995 novel.

The musical and film focus on the unlikely friendship found between the two witches at the center of L. Frank Baum’s The Wizard of Oz – Elphaba Thropp, who becomes the Wicked Witch of the West, and Galinda Upland, who becomes Glinda the Good. Ariana Grande starred as Glinda opposite Erivo’s Elphaba.

Wicked: For Good, the musical adaptation’s second installment, will hit theaters on Nov. 21, 2025.
