Cindy Crawford’s Son Presley Gerber Spoke About Mental Health in Final Public Appearance Before Death

Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber‘s son, Presley Gerber, spoke about his mental health in what would become his final public appearance before his sudden death.

In June, clothing store Aviator Nation Malibu shared photos from an event in collaboration with the mental wellness moment We Are Enough, writing, “Thank you to our incredible mental health panelists at the Aviator Nation x We Are Enough launch party 🎉 @blakemycoskie @paigemycoskie @presleygerber @thelaurenkennedy @hindirlane @shop.with.caroline.”

The post praised those who spoke out about their individual experiences.

“You spoke with such honesty, vulnerability, and wisdom. Your stories, insights, and practical tools offered meaningful guidance for building more compassionate and healthy relationships with ourselves—and, in turn, with others,” the post continued. “We couldn’t have imagined a more impactful conversation, one that so beautifully reflected the mission of We Are Enough. 🫶.”

The post concluded: “A special thank you to @ramseyart for hosting and facilitating such a thoughtful discussion. Your intentional questions created the space for a truly deep and meaningful conversation. We love and appreciate you all. Thank you for being part of this special evening.🌅.”

According to a comment from attendee and journalist Vanessa Powell, Presley received public support from his family at the event.

“His mom was there to support. ♥️,” she wrote via Instagram. “He was so kind, vulnerable, and inspiring. So sad to hear this news 😔😔.”

Us confirmed on Sunday, September 20, that Presley died at the age of 27.

“The family is asking for privacy during this very difficult and painful time,” the Crawford-Gerber family said in a statement.

According to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner, Presley was at a rehab facility when he died. A cause of death has not yet been revealed.

Presley’s sister, Kaia Gerber, recently opened up about watching him battle mental health struggles and substance abuse.

“When something like that happens in a family, it kind of levels everyone,” the actress, 24, told Vogue in August. “I think that’s also why I started to self-identify as the easy one and never wanted to ask for help. Because it felt like too much to have two children who were needing.”

Kaia noted how proud she was of Presley for using his own experience to help others in a similar position.

“My parents for most of our lives were very, very private and didn’t share anything — and now we have this absolute teacher, my brother, who says, ‘I’m gonna be very human for everyone.’ There’s only so much you can hide from the world,” she added. “And trying to put a lid on something just makes the person feel like you’re ashamed of them.”
