Costars With Matching Tattoos in Honor of Their Friendships: ‘Game of Thrones’ and More

Their bond started on set, but it didn’t stop there. Several costars from the biggest shows decided to make their friendship permanent by getting matching tattoos.
From Pretty Little Liars and The Lord Of the Rings to Mamma Mia and Game of Thrones, a handful of cast members celebrated their time together by getting ink as meaningful as it is cool.
Take Amanda Seyfried, who got matching tattoos with her Mamma Mia! costars Rachel McDowall and Ashley Lilley. After filming the music in 2008, they got “minge” inked onto their feet in 2014.
Seyfried revealed the meaning behind their artwork — which also happens to be her Instagram handle, @mingey — during a 2018 episode of Late Night With Seth Meyers.
“It’s a term of endearment,” she explained. “In England, it means ‘vagina,’ but in the U.S., which is where I spend most of my time, it just doesn’t mean anything. So, we commemorated our friendship with ‘minge’ tattoos.”
Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams also celebrated their on-screen sisterhood with meaningful Game of Thrones tattoos inspired by their bold and iconic characters in 2018.
