Dave Portnoy accuses Democrats of ‘trying to hijack democracy’ after Biden steps down: ‘What a f–king joke’

Dave Portnoy accused Democrats of “trying to hijack democracy” after President Joe Biden dropped out of the 2024 presidential race against Donald Trump.

The Barstool Sports founder took to X on Sunday to address the bombshell news while sailing in Nantucket, Mass.

“The big news, Joe Biden says he’s not running for re-election, which will conclude probably the greatest negotiation in the history of America,” he said in a video.

Portnoy, 47, suggested there had been a negotiation to convince the 46th president to withdraw from the forthcoming race, speculating, “How much did they have to pay the Bidens? What was his retirement package?”

The media personality further slammed the 81-year-old politician as a “lettuce head” and “vegetable,” claiming the Democratic party knew he had “dementia” and was “unfit” to serve.

“He’s been this way for years and the Democrats have been hiding it,” Portnoy claimed, alleging that Biden was “forced out of the party” because “no one trusts him.”

Portnoy also alleged the president’s advisors didn’t believe he could beat Trump, 78, in the election and willingly waited until after the Democratic primary to find another nominee.

While Biden announced his endorsement for Vice President Kamala Harris, Portnoy said “there is no way [Harris] would have been the nominee if Joe Biden dropped out before the Democratic primary” because she would not have won against other candidates.

“How they waited this long is insanity and they’re trying to hijack, basically, democracy,” he continued. “They’re not letting people vote.”

Additionally, Portnoy denied claims that he is a Trump supporter, saying, “That’s just not true. But the Democrats are such jokes and scumbags and devious. You have to vote for the other guy because of what the Democrats are doing.”

He continued, “This is obvious he was going to step down, but now what a f–king joke.”

Portnoy is one of the many celebrities who spoke out after Biden withdrew his bid for re-election after one term as president.
