New details have emerged regarding the tragic plane crash that took the lives of country star Brett James, his wife and his stepdaughter last month.

The “Jesus, Take the Wheel” singer, who was piloting a single-engine, four-seat aircraft, had “requested a visual approach” to land on the runway at Macon County Airport in Franklin, NC, prior to the crash, the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) shared in a new report obtained by Page Six.

Per the report, James attempted to make a full turn before he lost control of the Cirrus SR22T.

James then approached the airport around 2:48 ET, last reporting that he was intending “to perform a 360° turn to land” on the runway and was at 6,800 feet.

No other signals from James were received to air traffic controllers after that.

The record producer, 57, along with his wife, Melody Carole, 59, and her daughter, Meryl Wilson, 28, were all killed in the crash.

The NTSB reported that there were no signs of engine failure in the plane.

As Page Six previously reported, the aircraft was caught on video footage descending near Iotla Valley Elementary School in Franklin on Sept. 18.

A day before the fatal accident, Carole had just written a touching birthday tribute to Wilson on social media.

“Happy Birthday my Love!! How Blessed am I to be your Momma! You’re the MOST BEAUTIFUL AMAZING HUMAN inside and out!” she captioned the post.

“I’m humbled and grateful everyday for your shining presence in my life! God has already used you for His Kingdom in so many ways and so much more to come! No words can express what a gift you are to me and everyone that KNOWS YOU❤️😘.”

On her own page, Wilson celebrated another year around the sun and shared details about her sobriety journey.

“28 years old.✨ 142 days sober.✨ Extremely happy to be here 🤍✨,” she captioned the post.

James is survived by his four adult children, whom he shared with his first wife, Sandra Cornelius-Little.

The country musician penned more than two dozen No. 1 songs and won a Grammy in 2007.

He also worked with several A-list stars, including Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood and Martina McBride, over the years.
