Diane Keaton death certificate sheds new light on actress’ tragic death at 79

Diane Keaton’s death certificate shed new light on the cause of her shocking passing.
The “Godfather” star’s cause of death was listed as primary bacterial pneumonia with no contributing conditions, according to a death certificate obtained by People.
Additionally, the document said Keaton would be cremated.
The “Father of the Bride” actress died on Oct. 11 in California. She was 79.
A friend of the late star told People that Keaton’s health rapidly declined “very suddenly” and unexpectedly in the months leading up to her death, calling it “heartbreaking for everyone who loved her.”
A source told the outlet that Keaton was “surrounded only by her closest family, who chose to keep things very private” during her final months.
“Even longtime friends weren’t fully aware of what was happening,” the insider added.
The Oscar winner kept her health issues private and appeared happy and healthy while snuggling with her dog in her final Instagram post, which was shared in April.
In a statement, Keaton’s family confirmed she died from pneumonia.
“The Keaton family are very grateful for the extraordinary messages of love and support they have received these past few days on behalf of their beloved Diane,” they said.
Keaton’s relatives added, “She loved her animals and she was steadfast in her support of the unhoused community, so any donations in her memory to a local food bank or an animal shelter would be a wonderful and much appreciated tribute to her.”
Several stars mourned the loss of the “First Wives Club” star, including her ex Woody Allen, who said Keaton was “unlike anyone the planet has experienced or is unlikely to ever see again.”
“A few days ago the world was a place that included Diane Keaton. Now it’s a world that does not. Hence, it’s a drearier world,” the filmmaker, 89, wrote.
“Still, there are her movies. And her great laugh still echoes in my head.”
Keaton left behind a staggering net worth of $100 million, including a Bel Air, Calif., mansion and a multimillion-dollar property in Laguna Beach.
Two weeks before Keaton passed away, she delisted her $29 million Los Angeles home, which took her eight years to renovate.
She is survived by her two children, daughter Dexter, 29, and son Duke, 25, both of whom she welcomed in her 50s and raised as a single mom.
After Keaton’s death, her son, Duke, paid tribute to the late actress by channeling her signature “devoted nun” style.
