Elton John shared a heartbreaking update on his deteriorating eyesight.

Nearly a year after he was diagnosed with a “severe eye infection,” which led to him losing vision in his right eye, the singer revealed his condition is affecting his role as a dad.

“I can see you, but I can’t see TV, I can’t read,” the 78-year-old said during an interview with British newspaper the Times published Friday.

“I can’t see my boys playing rugby and soccer, and it has been a very stressful time because I’m used to soaking it all up.”

The “Rocket Man” crooner and husband David Furnish share two sons: Zachary, 14, and Elijah, 12.

“It’s distressing. You get emotional, but you have to get used to it because I’m lucky to have the life I have,” the Grammy winner continued.

“I still have my wonderful family, and I can still see something out of [my left eye]. So you say to yourself, ‘Just get on with it.’”

John’s latest health update comes three months after he poked fun at his vision loss during the 2025 Golden Globes.

“I don’t know if you know, but there’s been a lot of stories going on around about my recursive eyesight,” he said before presenting the award for best original score, motion picture to Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross for “Challengers.”

“I just wanted to reassure everybody that it’s not as bad as it seems.”

“I’m so pleased to be here with my cohost, Rihanna,” the “Lion King” composer quipped while standing alongside singer Brandi Carlile.

John first revealed his eye infection diagnosis in September 2024. He later admitted during a November 2024 interview with Good Morning America that he lost sight in his right eye.
