Doechii is firing back at “industry plant” claims in her new song.
The “DENIAL IS A RIVER” rapper released her new single “Girl, Get Up” on Tuesday, Dec. 30, which features SZA, and fires back at the narrative.
“All that industry plant s— whack/ I see it on the blogs, I see you in the chats/ You suck every rap n—a d— from the back/ But what’s the agenda when the it girl Black,” Doechii, 27, raps on the track.
She then doubles down on the hard work she’s done to get to where she is, while focusing on her achievements.
“Y’all can’t fathom that I work this hard/ And y’all can’t fathom that I earned this chart,” Doechii raps.
Doechii then appears to reference her Kendrick Lamar cosign and notes that she’ll be addressing the misogyny in hip-hop on her forthcoming record.
“They callin’ me the intellect amongst the p—- rap/ I still be poppin’ p—-, them my sisters, so I can’t agree with that/ These n—– misogynistic, I’ll address it on the album,” she states.
Doechii also shared a music video for “Girl, Get Up,” which features the “What It Is” artist dancing in the shadows on a yacht and overlooking a stadium, while sitting on the railing of a rooftop.
Both signed to TDE, Doechii and SZA, 36, previously teamed up for the “Persuasive” remix in 2022.
After taking home a Grammy for Best Rap Album in 2025 for her 2024 mixtape Alligator Bites Never Heal, Doechii is nominated for five Grammy Awards at the 2026 event.
She received nominations for Best Music Video, Best Rap Song, Best Rap Performance, Song of the Year and Record of the Year for “Anxiety.”
In August, Doechii spoke to PEOPLE about her accolades — and the one moment that was even more rewarding than winning a Grammy.
“I think that Billboard Women in Music night was really impactful and important to me, mainly because I got to highlight so many of the women that helped me make Alligator Bites Never Heal what it became,” she said at the time.
Doechii continued, “I realized how many women are actually employed on my team and how much I appreciate them. That was a big night for us to celebrate what the hell we just did. It was crazy, even crazier than the Grammy to me.”
