Donald Trump reignites feud with Jimmy Kimmel after comedian roasts him over Epstein files
President Donald Trump reignited his feud with comedian Jimmy Kimmel after the latter joked that the politician was “bracing for Hurricane Epstein.”
“Why does ABC Fake News keep Jimmy Kimmel, a man with NO TALENT and VERY POOR TELEVISION RATINGS, on the air?” the commander-in-chief, 79, wrote via Truth Social Thursday.
“Why do the TV Syndicates put up with it? Also, totally biased coverage. Get the bum off the air!!!”
Reps for Kimmel, 58, weren’t immediately available to Page Six for comment.
Trump’s remarks come after the late-night show host discussed on Wednesday’s episode of “Jimmy Kimmel Live” how the US president was expected to sign into law the “Epstein Files Transparency Act.”
The congressional bill, which was signed by Trump hours after Kimmel’s show was filmed, will result in the release of “all documents and records” in relation to the late convicted felon Jeffrey Epstein.
Epstein died by suicide in 2019 while awaiting trial on charges of sex trafficking of minors. He was 66.
“We are carefully following the path of Hurricane Epstein right now,” Kimmel quipped. “It is a Category 5, it’s expected to make landfall sometime very soon.”
“We are now one step closer to answering the question, ‘What did the president know, and how old were these women when he knew it?’” the talk show host added.
Producers for Kimmel’s show also shared the monologue on YouTube, titling it, “Trump Braces for Hurricane Epstein.”
Kimmel and Trump have been engaged in a years-long feud, and the 47th president was pleased when the TV personality’s show was briefly taken off the air following his remarks about the late Charlie Kirk in September.
On the Sept. 11 episode, Kimmel, who notably extended his condolences to Kirk’s family via social media, joked that the suspect responsible for the Conservative activist’s death on Sept. 10 was most likely involved with Trump’s supporters, the “MAGA gang.”
“Great News for America: The ratings-challenged Jimmy Kimmel Show is CANCELLED,” Trump wrote on Truth Social shortly after Kimmel’s show was suspended.
“Congratulations to ABC for finally having the courage to do what had to be done. Kimmel has ZERO talent, and worse ratings than even Colbert, if that’s possible.”
Kimmel, however, returned to the air after several celebrities stood by his side and called for freedom of speech.
During his first episode back, Kimmel stated “that it was never [his] intention to make light of the murder of a young man.”
“Nor was it my intention to blame any specific group for the actions of what was obviously a deeply disturbed individual. That was really the opposite of the point I was trying to make,” he continued, explaining that he understood how people felt the timing of his joke was “ill-timed or unclear.”
Despite being at odds, Kimmel revealed he would “love to have Trump” on his show while chatting with Bloomberg last month.
