Donna Kelce Had to Tell Sons Travis and Jason Kelce to Stop Giving Her This Gift Every Christmas
If you need advice on a last-minute gift for your mom, maybe don’t ask Jason and Travis Kelce!
When one fan turned to Jason, 37, and Travis, 35, for advice on when — “if ever” — to tell your partner that they’re a “bad gift giver” on the Tuesday, Dec. 24 episode of New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce, the co-hosts shared a charming childhood memory.
After telling the listener to “say something” to their partner because the situation “sounds like an issue,” Jason revealed, “Mom, Donna Kelce, had to deal with Christmas upon Christmas of the same gifts.”
Kylie Kelce who married the former Philadelphia Eagles center in 2018 and was a special guest this episode, quickly knew what the routine combo was and chimed in: “Earrings and candles.”
Jason said he and Travis gave their mom earrings, candles and “pistachio nuts” each Christmas for their “whole childhood” before Donna eventually said something.
“She said, ‘You guys don’t have to get me the same thing every Christmas,'” Jason said during the podcast.
Travis quipped, “Yeah, but what do you get a mom that has everything she ever needs?”

Ultimately, Jason’s real advice for the caller was to be honest and “just say you don’t like them,” but in a positive way.
“Just say, ‘Hey, I think I would appreciate something more sentimental,’ ” the ESPN analyst suggested. “Just say what you like, don’t say what you don’t like.”
Kylie advised the listener to “be gentle about it” and “plant seeds” about potential items on your wish list “ahead of time” to give your partner ideas.
Ed Kelce’s gift-giving efforts, meanwhile, left a lasting impression of Travis and Jason.
On the Dec. 18 episode of their podcast, the brothers revealed that Ed “used to take a second job around the holidays” at a See’s Candies store.
“So, Dad would take the second job in order to buy gifts for Travis and I because he needed more money around the holidays to buy the gifts that Travis and I were asking for,” Jason explained in the episode, calling Ed, “the ultimate dad.”
