Drake Maye shouted out his wife Ann Michael after his team’s big win over the weekend.
The 23-year-old quarterback spoke to reporters after the New England Patriots beat the Los Angeles Chargers 16-3 on Sunday, Jan. 11, and adorably gave a nod to Ann Michael, 22.
When asked how he plans to celebrate the win and what it means to him to have family at the game, Maye said, “Yeah, my parents come to every game. They’re always here. My three brothers were here, which is pretty cool, all three of ’em being here.”
Maye said it’s “just special sharing these moments with them” and shared that he’ll “probably” be “playing ping-pong until 1:30 [a.m.]” with his brothers.
“Having them in the house is cool,” he added, describing his brothers as “three of my best friends.”
Then, the quarterback added, “And obviously Ann Michael, can’t forget about her,” with a smile on his face.
Maye also spoke about the emotions he felt during the game, telling reporters, “Running out of that tunnel with the crowd, that was a cool moment. I kind of was running off the field like, man, that was pretty sweet, listening to the crowd.”
“Proud of the fans for how they showed up every week,” he added as the Patriots prepare for a home game.
The Patriots’ win over the Chargers on Sunday eliminated Los Angeles from the NFL postseason. Next, New England will take on the winner of Monday night’s game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Houston Texans in the divisional round.
Maye and his wife Ann Michael, who was Ann Michael Hudson before marrying the quarterback, tied the knot on June 21, 2025 at the Grandfather Golf and Country Club in North Carolina, per The News & Observer.
The couple were high school sweethearts and later attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill together.
