Ed Sheeran Jokes His Legs Have Become His Daughters’ ‘Drawing Book’ as He Details the Different Tattoos He Has for Them

Ed Sheeran may have many different tattoos, but there’s one that particularly stands out for him.
The “Galway Girl” singer, 34, appeared on the Call Her Daddy podcast and was asked by host Alex Cooper if any of his tattoos have a particular story attached to them. Sheeran, who is known for having tattoos all over his body, responded that “they’ve all got stories, really.”
“I think my left arm is my first five years of my career, and my right arm is kind of the next five years,” Sheeran said. “And then I got my chest and back done, and my back is kind of like the most recent one. I got my kids’ footprints the week that they were born, so I quite like that because they’re tiny and obviously, they’re a lot bigger now.”

“My legs have actually started being my kids’ drawing book,” Sheeran sweetly explained. “So my daughter’s just done a little bunny rabbit for my leg and you can put the date of it. It’s quite nice seeing it.”
Cooper then asked if his daughters come up to him and ask to get their art tattooed, or if it’s Sheeran that asks his daughters if he can get their drawings permanently inked on his skin.
“Sort of that, yeah. Sort of that,” Sheeran added. “Now she’s like, she’ll draw something and be like, ‘Get it as a tattoo.’ But yeah. I think I’m gonna get one for each of them every year.”
Sheeran shares his daughters Lyra, 4, and Jupiter, 2, with wife Cherry Seaborn.
The singer doesn’t often share about his family of four, but in October 2022, Sheeran made an appearance on Good Morning America and explained that his older daughter Lyra understands her dad’s career — to an extent.
“My first daughter is, you know, she comes to the shows and she’s quite aware — I think she assumes everyone else’s dad sings as well though,” Sheeran joked.
And during a concert in Brooklyn, New York, in May 2023, Sheeran shared that his song “Dusty” was inspired by his morning routine with Lyra. Every day, the father-daughter duo listens to a different vinyl record while they eat breakfast.
“[I would] go to bed and cry myself to sleep and wake up at 6 [a.m.] with this ball of energy — this beautiful girl that’s jumping on me and being like, ‘Let’s listen to music and eat porridge!’ and I’m like ‘Yes, that’s exactly what I want to do,’ ” he told the crowd, referencing grieving the loss of his best friend, Jamal. “That’s the wonderful thing about children; they can really lift your spirits in times like that.”
