Elton John’s Sons Zachary, 15, and Elijah, 12, Look All Grown Up as They Join Dad for Rare Appearance at New Year’s Eve Party

Elton John rang in the new year surrounded by loved ones.

The legendary artist, 78, and his husband, David Furnish, 63, stepped out on New Year’s Eve to ring in 2026 at Donatella Versace’s party, and were joined in a rare appearance by their sons: Zachary, 15, and Elijah, 13 this month.

John looked dapper for the occasion in photos shared on Instagram, which showed the “Rocket Man” singer donning an elegant black blazer with a fully embroidered collar. He paired the statement piece with a polka-dot button-up shirt, corresponding black slacks and his signature thick, black eyeglasses.

Furnish could be seen in the image, draped in an off-white shawl-collar blazer with a white button-up shirt underneath, paired with black slacks. The couple posed smiling alongside Versace and their sons, who both wore black suits with corresponding white dress shirts.

“Thank you @donatella_versace and @edward_enninful for hosting us for a fabulous New Years Eve party! A perfect way to see in 2026 🚀✨,” John captioned his post.

The couple welcomed their older son, Zachary, in 2010 via surrogate. Elijah then joined the family in 2013 via the same surrogate.

The couple and their sons being photographed in public together has been a rare occurrence as of late, with only a few confirmed sightings in 2025. In March 2025, the family attended John’s 2025 Oscars viewing party, and in September 2025, John shared an image of himself with the two boys at a Watford FC soccer match, wearing matching blue jerseys in support of the team, in a post on Instagram. John has owned the team since 1976.

Most recently, John and Furnish marked their 20th wedding anniversary with sweet Instagram tributes, which were shared online on Sunday, Dec. 21.

“Happy anniversary to my incredible husband, @davidfurnish. Today we celebrate 20 years since our civil partnership, 11 years of marriage, and many more years of happiness to come!” John captioned his post.

In his own Instagram post to commemorate the occasion, Furnish wrote, “20 years ago today we were civil partnered. 11 years ago today we were wedded. Happy Anniversary to my magnificent husband @eltonjohn. I’m so grateful for the beautiful life we have built together 🙏🏻🚀❤️. Love you forever.”
