Emma Bunton is giving fans an early holiday present with her spin on a classic Spice Girls song.

On Friday, Dec. 20, Baby Spice, 48, released a new version of the group’s 1996 song “2 Become 1” that she recorded with the Budapest Scoring Orchestra.

The ballad was released during the holiday season that year and featured band members Victoria Beckham, Melanie “Mel C.” Chisholm, Melanie “Mel B.” Brown and Geri Halliwell-Horner.

Now, 28 years later, Bunton has revisited the R&B tune, accompanied by the orchestra’s string section for a cozy rendition.

“Earlier this year, I had the amazing opportunity to record one of my favourite Spice Girls singles, 2 Become 1, with the incredible @budapestscoring Orchestra!” Bunton wrote on Dec. 20 on Instagram.

“Hearing the song brought to life by such a talented orchestra gave me goosebumps—it was such a magical experience,” she continued. “We just had to capture the session on film, and now you can watch the full video via the link in bio. 🎥 I’d love to hear what you think!💖✨.”

In the video, Bunton dons a red, off-the-shoulder dress and sings among the strings section. “I need some love like I’ve never needed love before/ I had a little love, now I’m back for more/Set your spirit free/ It’s the only way to be,” Bunton croons in the refrain.

The “Wannabe” artist also shared a behind-the-scenes clip on on Instagram highlighting her “magical experience” recording the song with a live orchestra. “I literally had goosebumps the whole day!” she added.

The cover of the 1996 song is the first music Bunton has released since 2019 when she dropped My Happy Place, her fourth solo album. Five years ago, she also debuted her holiday single “Coming Home for Christmas” along with a cover of Eartha Kitt’s classic “Santa Baby.”

In April, Bunton reunited with her former bandmates for Victoria’s 50th birthday, per footage shared by her son Cruz Beckham.

In the clip, the Spice Girls sing their 1996 hit “Mama” alongside him playing the acoustic guitar.

Bunton’s new version of “2 Become 1” is available to stream.
