Everything We Know About ‘Squid Game’ Season 2: Cast Details, Premiere Date and More
It’s time to start prepping yourself for more red and green jumpsuits as Netflix’s Squid Game is returning for season 2.
The South Korean drama — created by Hwang Dong-hyuk — became one of the streaming platform’s most-watched series following its September 2021 premiere and garnered critical acclaim and accolades, including three Screen Actors Guild Awards and two Critics Choice Awards in 2022. O Yeong-su, who played not-so-sweet old man Oh Il-nam, won a Best Supporting Actor Golden Globe Award for his performance.
Season 1 of the survival drama follows 465 strangers — all suffering crushing debt — as they’re recruited and brought to a remote island to compete in a series of children’s games for a chance to win $38 million. The catch? The losers aren’t just eliminated, they’re killed on the spot.
Netflix officially announced in June 2022 that Squid Game would return for a second season.
