Former Finding Prince Charming contestant Jasen Kaplan has died. He was 46.
Page Six was first to report the news. Kaplan died in New York City on Dec. 31, the outlet and TMZ report. A representative for the New York Police Department confirmed to Page Six that Kaplan’s death is under investigation, and an autopsy will be performed to determine his official cause of death.
The NYPD did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
Outside of his time on Finding Prince Charming in 2016, Kaplan worked as a celebrity makeup artist. His notable first high-profile clients were Brittny and Lisa Gastineau of Gastineau Girls, which aired on E! from 2005 to 2006, according to Page Six.
“I’m devastated,” wrote his former client Kelly Osbourne on her Instagram Story on Jan. 1. “I love you so much @jasenkaplan, thank you for all the love, laughter and joy you brought my life. I hope you are at peace now. Life with never be the same without you! Rip my dear friend!”
Kaplan went on to craft looks for Osbourne, Eva Longoria, Lynda Carter and Cyndi Lauper, per the outlet. “He was a great artist, and a sweet guy,” a longtime friend told the outlet. “When people started working with him, they often stayed with him for years.”

“He really was important to a lot of people,” another source told Page Six. “Some of his clients had been with him more than 20 years. They’re going to take it very hard.”
Kaplan was an uncle, and leaves behind his dog, Coco, Page Six reports. “I promise to make sure coco is always looked after,” Osbourne wrote on her Instagram Stories, adding in another slide, “25 years of friendship and every second was worth it.”
Kaplan’s death comes nearly a month after fellow Finding Prince Charming alum Chad Spodick died at age 42 in Florida in December 2025. Spodick’s death was confirmed a suicide, but the case surrounding his death remains an open investigation.
