Golden Globes 2026 Full Recap: One Battle After Another, The Pitt Among Big Winners in Reunion and Romance-Filled Night
A Few Fun Reunions We’d Hate for You to Miss
4 hr 27 min ago
Watching an awards show isn’t just about celebrating your favorite shows of today; it can be about seeing some of your favorite costars of yore in a room together again. Below are a few or our favorites we wouldn’t want you to miss.
This Is Us siblings Justin Hartley and Sterling K. Brown came together during the show and chatted it up with Hartley’s wife, Sofia Pernas, as well.
The Secret Life of Bees costars Dakota Fanning and Queen Latifah teamed up to present an award. Fanning, 31, was only 14 when the film was released.
As we mentioned earlier, 13 Going on 30‘s Jennifer Garner and Mark Ruffalo were spotted chatting it up at the bar before the show.
And, of course, ER docs Noah Wyle and George Clooney shared an embrace when Wyle won for Best Actor in a TV Drama for The Pitt.
A Farewell to Honor Rob Reiner
4 hr 37 min ago
When host Nikki Glaser appeared on stage for the final time, she wore a Spinal Tap hat, a subtle way to honor its director, Rob Reiner, who died on Dec. 14.
The Golden Globe Awards do not include an In Memoriam segment to honor fallen stars and filmmakers, as many other awards shows do.
“I hope we found the line between clever and stupid,” she said as the credits rolled on the evening. “A good Chalamet to you all. Good night!”
‘Hamnet’ Wins for Best Drama
4 hr 41 min ago
Steven Spielberg accepted the Best Motion Picture, Drama, for Hamnet, and thanked Sam Mendes for sending him the book by Maggie O’Farrell in the first place.
“I thought there was only one filmmaker on the face of the planet who could tell the story of Agnes and Will and the spirits of the Earth and the forest, and that was the exceptional Chloé Zhao,” Spielberg said.
Zhao then stepped up and noted that while they were making the film, some people working on it “lost their loved ones … and some are still struggling, so we just want to say that we’re thinking of you, we’re here because of you, and we miss you.”
She went on to share what star Paul Mescal told her this morning: “He said that making this film made him realize that the most important thing about being an artist is learning to be vulnerable enough to allow ourselves to be seen for who we are, not who we ought to be, and to give ourselves fully to the world, even the parts of ourselves that we’re ashamed of, that we’re afraid of, that are imperfect, so that the people we speak to, they can also learn to see themselves and accept themselves.”
She concluded, “Let’s keep our hearts open, and let’s keep seeing each other, and let’s keep allowing ourselves to be safe.”
Another ‘Battle’ Win
4 hr 41 min ago
Julia Roberts took the stage — and thanked Kevin Hart for sticking around to support her — and presented the Best Motion Picture, Comedy, award to One Battle After Another.
“I want to agree with Paul [Thomas Anderson, the director and screenwriter, who already won for both] that this has been one of the most incredible filmmaking experiences,” producer Sara Murphy began.
“What an embarrassment of riches and talent,” she said as she thanked the cast, including Leonardo DiCaprio, Teyana Taylor and Chase Infiniti.
Wagner Moura Wins for Best Actor in a Drama
5 hr 10 min ago
The Secret Agent took home the prize for Best Non-English Language Film — and now it’s scored another statuette. Wagner Moura won for Best Actor in a Drama Film and became the first Brazilian actor to win the award in the history of the Golden Globes.
“The Secret Agent is a film about memory about memory — or the lack of memory — and generational trauma,” Moura said. “I think that if trauma can be passed along generations, values can too. So this is to the ones who are sticking to their values in difficult moments.”
Jessie Buckley Celebrates With Julia Roberts
5 hr 10 min ago
Jessie Buckley won Best Actress in a Drama for her turn in Hamnet. As she walked towards the stage, she stopped and hugged Julia Roberts, who was also nominated in the category.
“Julia Roberts, you are like a hero to us all!” Buckley said towards the end of her speech, which began with, “This is not a normal feeling or situation to be in, but thank you, Golden Globes.”
She went on to thank her cast and crew, especially a grip who made some tasty soup on set.
“My husband, he’s really been enjoying the free canopies and cocktails,” she concluded. “So thank you so much for having us along. This is a real, real honor. I love what I do, and I love being part of this industry.”
‘The Studio’ Should Thank Sal Saperstein
5 hr 23 min ago
Because it has won again! The hit Apple TV series won for Best Comedy Series.
Seth Rogen accepted the award on behalf of the team and made sure to thank, well, pretty much the full credits he knows we all skipped when we watched The Studio.
He also noted that they would be starting to film season 2 in a week.
But they did not thank Sal Saperstein. Sadly.
Don’t Be Shocked
5 hr 30 min ago
Adolescence won for Best Limited or Anthology series after already taking home three statuettes in the acting categories.
“Some think our show is about how we should be frightened of young people. It’s not. It’s about the filth and the debris we have laid in their path,” executive producer Jack Thorne said before thanking the young cast, especially. “You are proof the world can be better.”
“Removing hate is our generation’s responsibility,” Thorne added. “It requires thought from the top down. The possibility seems remote right now, but hope is a beautiful thing.”
‘The Pitt’ Is Tops
5 hr 33 min ago
The Pitt won for Best TV Drama — and star Noah Wyle hugged George Clooney on his way to the stage with John Wells and R. Scott Gemmill, the producers of the series.
Onstage, Gemmill made sure to thank all the first responders and civil servants.
“We live in a very divided country and world right now, but I think cinema — and I’m calling TV cinema too, sorry — brings us all together, not only as an audience but as a community,” he said.
Rhea Seehorn Wins the First Award for ‘Pluribus’
5 hr 33 min ago
Pluribus is Apple TV’s most watched show ever — so get used to seeing it and its star, Rhea Seehorn, on awards show stages.
“My speech says get a prescription for beta blockers, but I didn’t,” Seehorn said. ’I’m sorry. I’m just a little shocked. I think my stomach is still over there.”
“Getting your name read with Bella Ramsey and Britt Lower and Helen Mirren and Kathy Bates and Keri Russell — I’m astonished by all your performances,” she continued. “I appreciate being listed with you, and actually, to all of the women in this room, I’ve been to a lot of these parties that get pretty scary for someone like me sometimes, and the women in this room have been incredible in the last couple of weeks.”
“Vince Gilligan, thank you for writing me the role of a lifetime,” the Better Call Saul alum continued, and went on to thank the rest of the cast and the “tireless crew” who “had my back every single night when the sun was coming up.”
“I’m still so grateful that I get to do this for a living, and this is incredible icing on that cake,” she concluded.
Here’s to the Therapists
5 hr 47 min ago
“I made a promise to my mum, I would not say f—. Sorry, Mum,” Erin Doherty began as she accepted her award.
“I would just love to dedicate this to our therapists, she said toward the end of the speech. “I didn’t want to assume, but I feel like we all know a therapist, I just think life can be tough. Mental health is everything. So thank you to therapists, and it was an honor to play one. Thank you so much.”
‘Heated Rivalry’ Takes the Stage
5 hr 47 min ago
Heated Rivalry‘s Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie reunited on stage to present best supporting performance by a female in a TV series to Adolescence‘s Erin Doherty.
“It’s a little nerve-racking here,” Storrie began, looking terrified.
“Just take a deep breath and picture everyone in the audience, you know…” Williams responded.
“Yeah, I don’t really know if that works considering everyone’s seen us, you know…” Storrie said.
Williams went on to ask the audience who had seen Heated Rivalry, which received solid applause. “That’s a maybe,” Storrie said. “But their trainers have, and their moms have, and their daughters have.”
“Hi, moms and daughters,” Williams said flirtatiously.

10 hr 19 min ago
Nikki Glaser opened up to PEOPLE about her approach to joke-writing ahead of the 2026 Golden Globes — and swore, “everyone is fair game.”
But, she continued, the people she most admires are the ones she’ll be having the most fun with.
“I’m writing from a place of love, and I wouldn’t do a joke about someone that I actually didn’t like,” she said. “So if I do write a joke about you or do a joke to you, it’s because I admire you and I think that you are probably cool and have a good sense of humor. I don’t do jokes about people who I just don’t think are cool, and that I don’t really even care to talk to or give the time of day.”
