Gordon Ramsay reveals skin cancer diagnosis
Gordon Ramsay has revealed he recently underwent surgery for skin cancer.
The celebrity chef, 58, shared the diagnosis in a post via Instagram Saturday alongside photos taken following his medical procedure.
“Grateful and so appreciative for the incredible team at The Skin Associates and their fast reactive work on removing this Basal Cell Carcinoma thank you !” he wrote in the caption.
Ramsay then advised his followers, “Please don’t forget your sunscreen this weekend ❤️I promise you it’s not a face lift! I’d need a refund…….😜”
One of the pictures showed the “Hells Kitchen” star’s side profile with a large bandage over it. In another snap, he showed off a scar near his ear that still had stitches in it.
People in the comments section of the post sent Ramsay their well-wishes and prayers.
“So glad you’re sorted! Speedy recovery Chef 🙌 ❤️” one person wrote, while another added, “So glad you are safe and thanks for the reminder!”
One of the chef’s five kids, daughter Holly Ramsay, simply chimed in, “Love you dad.”
It does not appear that Gordon has a personal history of having had any form of cancer in the past.
However, last year he had yet another health scare when he got into a gruesome bike accident.
In June 2024, the “MasterChef” star showed off a massive purple bruise on his torso after falling off a bicycle while riding in Connecticut.
Gordon wrote via Instagram at the time, “I’m lucky to be here” and once again provided a cautionary message for his fans, “Honestly, you’ve got to wear a helmet. I don’t care how short the journey is.”
