It’s the holiday season, which means Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton are getting ready to make another timpano pasta dome.

In an interview on the Wednesday, Dec. 3 episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Stefani, 56, discussed how she and Shelton, 49, started their annual tradition of making a timpano pasta dome for Christmas.

“We have a tradition that Blake started, actually. It’s a dish that’s basically a pizza, a pasta and, a carb-licious, like, thing,” said the No Doubt member. “It’s called a timpano dome.”

Stefani explained, “It’s a big pie. Like, a pizza pie thing. We found it in a movie… some movie that Blake found.” Fallon, 51, confirmed the film is 1996’s Big Night.

“It kind of has evolved over the years,” added the “Hollaback Girl” singer. “Originally we did it with, like, a pasta shell thing. I think that’s the original way that you do it. But then we were like, ‘We should make it with pizza on the outside,’ like, pizza dough. Like, why wouldn’t you do that?”

She didn’t expect to keep making annual timpano pasta domes for this long. “I thought I would, like, text the group family chat and be like, ‘Are you guys sick of this? Should we still do this?’ But everyone’s like, ‘No, we want it!’ So, it’s a tradition now,” said Stefani — who was then surprised with a timpano pasta dome from the talk show host on the set of their interview.

Fallon also asked the Grammy winner how Shelton is doing overall. “He is gorgeous,” she responded.

Elsewhere during the chat, Stefani spoke about her new song “Shake the Snow Globe” from the holiday movie Oh. What. Fun., which stars Michelle Pfeiffer and premiered via Prime Video on Dec. 3.

“They asked me to actually write this song for the film, and I had never been asked to, like, write for that scene, watch the movie,” she said. “I was very flattered. I was like, ‘Maybe I could score a movie.’”

Throughout the process of making the song, Stefani’s father, Dennis, was curious to know if she was rubbing elbows with Pfeiffer, 67. “I swear, my dad was stalking me,” she said. “Like, every time I’d go in the studio, ‘Is Michelle gonna be there?’ I’m like, ‘I’m going to the studio.’”

Gwen and Pfeiffer crossed paths at the film’s New York City premiere on Tuesday, Dec. 2. “I got to actually meet her last night, you guys. She’s so beautiful and everything cool, all of it,” she detailed.
