“Harry Potter” actor Nick Moran was recently rushed to a hospital and is in serious condition after suffering a “life-threatening” spinal cord injury.

The actor’s friend Terry Stone revealed that Moran underwent emergency spinal surgery after learning that his recent neck pain was due to him having damaged his spinal cord, per the Daily Mail.

“I spoke to one of his family members and he damaged his neck somehow, and it’s affecting his spinal cord and some of the things that operate your speech and your legs,” Stone told the outlet Friday.

“Nick’s girlfriend was saying ‘You’ve got to get it checked out,’ but as a bloke he said, ‘No I’ll put some deep heat on it.’ Then he went to the doctors and got sent to A&E and told, ‘We need to take you in for an emergency operation because this is life threatening.’”

Stone went on to tell the outlet that Moran, 55, is now in recovery, but doctors ahead of the surgery informed him of the “traumatic” possibility that “he might never walk or talk again.”

“He’s not in the best of health, but when he came out of the operation I was like ‘thank god’ because I think he’d decided he’d rather not walk or talk than die,” Stone shared.

Doctors removed four bones from the actor’s neck and replaced them with artificial bones to address the issue.

“It was micro surgery and because there’s so many nerves around the neck and spine this made the operation tricky with those awful chances of not being able to speak or walk again,” said Stone.

Stone also shared that he and Moran’s family believe the surgery was successful, but still expect a long road of recovery ahead for Moran.

“He’s speaking now, which is a good sign, but he’s shuffling around like a 100-year-old and has a neck brace on and taking it easy,” he said.

A rep for the actor did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment, but confirmed the news of Moran’s surgery to Daily Mail.

“Nick had urgent spinal surgery over a week ago, which carries the usual risks of such procedures,” the rep said.

“All went well — he is now back home on his way to a full recovery after a short stay in the hospital.”

In addition to his role in the “Harry Potter” film franchise, Moran also starred in the 1998 film “Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.”
