Hillary Clinton and Lin-Manuel Miranda host fundraiser for Joe Biden at her new historical Broadway show

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is now a producer on the new musical “Suffs,” and she used Wednesday’s performance as an opportunity to stump for President Biden.
On Wednesday, she and “Hamilton” whiz Lin-Manuel Miranda hosted a fundraiser for Biden at a preview of the play about suffragists.
“She mingled with all the patrons,” said a spy. “She was very accessible.”
Husband Bill Clinton was also at the show, and “the place went crazy” when they caught sight of him, we’re told. “They were very excited when Bill came in,” the source said.
Politics aside, we hear Hillary is “loving” her role as producer and has been “very active” behind the scenes.
“She has been involved in this process every step of the way. She was at the very first rehearsal. She speaks to the cast. She’s loving the process. She walks in the room and she’s glowing,” an insider told us.
Our insider said Hillary’s “eyes were watering” when she attended the sitzprobe (the first rehearsal at which the cast and orchestra perform together) a few weeks ago. “It was very emotional for her” to see the show really coming to life for the first time,” the source said.
Singer-songwriter Shaina Taub wrote the music and stars as activist Alice Paul in the musical that follows the story of women in the suffragist movement, fighting for their right to vote with the passage of the 19th Amendment.
Miranda introduced Taub to the crowd as “the future of musical theater.”
Clearly, Hillary feels the same: She caught a performance off-Broadway at the Public Theater, and Taub boldly asked if she had any interest in being a producer. Hillary “immediately jumped onboard,” we’re told.
The show also won over the former president. Bill was overheard praising cast member Grace McLean backstage at Wednesday’s preview.
“He told her, in jest, that he loved her [performance as] President Woodrow Wilson more than the actual President Wilson!” our source said.
“Suffs” is currently in previews, and officially opens at Music Box Theater on April 18.
