Hoda Kotb boasts about having no alarms, starting fresh after leaving ‘Today’ show
Hoda Kotb is celebrating her “Today” show exit by ditching her morning alarms.
The journalist posted a screenshot of her daily wake-up calls for 3 a.m., 3:15 a.m. and 3:30 a.m. via Instagram Sunday night, noting that they were all turned off.
“No alarm…whaaaaaaaattttt???” she wrote.
“YESSSSSSSSS!!!!!!” Andy Cohen commented on the social media upload, while Jason Kennedy urged Kotb, 60, to “sleep tight.”
The former “Dateline” correspondent also gave her replacement, Craig Melvin, a shout-out.
“Wake up in the morning ….and knock ‘em dead,” she wrote to him and Savannah Guthrie. “I am rooting for you.”
Kotb did the same for Jenna Bush Hager, with whom she co-hosted the fourth hour of “Today.”
“Sleep tight— then….tomorrow morning …. Begin again…you are magic!” she captioned a close-up shot of the 43-year-old.
When Monday morning rolled around, the former NBC News personality honored her on-air absence with a quote reading, “And suddenly you know … it’s time to start something new and trust the magic of beginnings.”
She wrote, “Here’s to everyone starting fresh — @craigmelvinnbc and @savannahguthrie ….. @jennabushhager and friends.. and to me! Lets do this!”
Kotb announced in September 2024 that she was leaving the network after 26 years.
Melvin was tapped as the Daytime Emmy winner’s substitute two months later.
Kotb’s last day was Friday, and she became emotional during her send-off from the show.
“I haven’t been able to articulate it, because I’m a mess most times, but I just want to say thanks,” she said while wiping away tears.
Her daughters, Haley and Hope, made an adorable appearance during the episode.
