How Taylor Swift Got Jason Kelce’s Daughters to Love Cats After He Told Them They Were ‘Poisonous’

Not only has Taylor Swift won the hearts of the Kelce family, but so have her famous cats!
During her Wednesday, August 13, appearance on the “New Heights” podcast hosted by boyfriend Travis Kelce and his brother, Jason Kelce, the singer shared how she introduced her three cats — Meredith Grey, Olivia Benson and Benjamin Button — to Jason’s four daughters.
On the podcast, Travis, 35, revealed that Jason, 37, told his kids — Wyatt, 5, Ellliotte, 4, Bennett, 2, and Finnley, 4 months — that cats are poisonous, something Swift, 35, was adamant to dispel.
“It was actually really a great challenge because as soon as I got the kids around the cats, it was my goal to prove to them that they weren’t poisonous,” the “Cruel Summer” singer said. “And there’s no better way to prove that than to just hand them Benjamin, my ragdoll cat, who lets humans hold him like he’s a baby.”
Swift added, “My favorite thing ever is when Bennie will come up to me and just go, ‘I find Benjamin, I find him.’ And she’s just over there laying with him and petting him and holding him.”
“The cats are so good with kids,” she continued. “They’re just like, ‘Meredith is here!’ I’m like, ‘And you know what? She didn’t bite you at all, did she? And if she did bite you, she wouldn’t be poisonous.’ They’re like, ‘That’s not what our dad said.’”
Swift teased Jason over his apparent dislike of cats, saying she told the girls that they were going to get one.
Jason said, “There is a chance I have been talked into a barn cat that does not go inside, that will survive off of rodents in the field and guard our house.”
Swift responded, “Those girls are gonna be sneaking that cat into their beds every single night!”
The “Fortnight” singer also said that since concluding her Eras Tour in December 2024, she has been investing in hobbies including making sourdough, which she is keen to share with Jason’s daughters.
“This one I’ve been workshopping for the girls, because they love everything rainbow: Funfetti sourdough,” Swift said.
Jason responded, “Oh, my gosh. That’s going to blow their mind.”
“Yeah, it will,” Swift said. “They love sprinkles. We put sprinkles in everything when we hang out.”
