When she realizes Veronica is missing, Isabel is transformed from a kindly grandmother into a vicious force of nature. Isabel goes on a rampage, violently interrogating anyone whom she believes may have been involved with the incident. She even teams up with Marta’s father, Rafael (Álvaro Morte), a local crime boss, who seems to know more than he lets on about his own daughter’s disappearance.

It’s rare enough to see a woman in this sort of Liam Neeson-esque, take-no-prisoners role, let alone a woman in her 70s, and this dynamic is really the selling point of the story.
