We’ve been loving foreign-language thrillers on Netflix lately — from Fall for Me to Three Rivers to Under a Dark Sun.

The latest addition to the foreign thriller library, Two Graves, is a Spanish miniseries from popular novelist Agustín Martínez.

Here’s why the Watch With Us team thinks you absolutely must binge this three-episode limited series over the weekend — especially if you love revenge, action and shocking twists against stunningly beautiful backdrops.

Find out the top reasons why this miniseries will keep you hooked until the very end.

It’s an Intense Revenge Tale With an Older Woman as the Star

Two Graves follows Isabel (Kiti Mánver), a devoted grandmother whose granddaughter Veronica (Nadia Vilaplana) goes missing with her friend Marta (Zoe Arnao) one night. When she realizes Veronica is missing, Isabel is transformed from a kindly grandmother into a vicious force of nature. Isabel goes on a rampage, violently interrogating anyone whom she believes may have been involved with the incident. She even teams up with Marta’s father, Rafael (Álvaro Morte), a local crime boss, who seems to know more than he lets on about his own daughter’s disappearance.

It’s rare enough to see a woman in this sort of Liam Neeson-esque, take-no-prisoners role, let alone a woman in her 70s, and this dynamic is really the selling point of the story. If you think Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned, wait till you see the fury of a woman whose granddaughter was kidnapped.

One of the Leads Starred in a Breakout Spanish Netflix Hit

One of Netflix’s biggest hits from Spain was Money Heist, the story of a mysterious man known as “The Professor” who recruits a group of individuals to steal money from the Royal Mint of Spain and the Bank of Spain.

Álvaro Morte led Money Heist, and he brings the same enigmatic, mysterious energy to Rafael — albeit in a very different context. His motives are never clear, and it’s fascinating to watch the talented actor’s dynamic with the older woman who demands accountability for their two loved ones’ disappearances. If you loved Money Heist, you definitely won’t want to miss Two Graves.

It’s a Propulsive Revenge Thriller That Moves Fast

With only three episodes, Two Graves is about as “mini” as a miniseries can be — but that’s not a bad thing. It feels more like a movie, accelerating at a fast clip through interrogations, twists, misleads and misunderstood clues.

The series seems to take its title from the adage that says when you set out on a path towards revenge, you should dig two graves — one for your enemy and one for yourself. As Isabel seeks her vengeance, you’ll find yourself hooked by the gripping story, knowing that it can’t possibly end well.

If you’re looking for a quick weekend binge with plenty of shocking — and thought-provoking — twists along the way, watch Two Graves on Netflix.
