I’m Crushing High-Impact Workouts Thanks to These Leggings That Don’t Roll Down

I’ve turned over a new leaf of sorts in 2025. Along with going booze-free for dry January, I’ve committed to working out several times a week. This new quest led me to workout classes across NYC and unlocked a new problem. I can’t count how many reps I cut short because of ill-fitting leggings that rolled down with each move. With that in mind, I searched for budge-free leggings that fit my shapely XL-size curves.
Earlier this month, I tested out Athleta’s Elation Ultra-High Rise Leggings in the new double style and found exactly what I was looking for. I woke up bright and early to attend a SotoMethod class in NYC’s Tribeca neighborhood to put the Elation leggings to the test. Instructor Grace Freyre combined cardio and sculpting movements for a heart-pumping workout. Instead of grabbing my waistband as we transitioned from move to move, I completed full reps only stopping to swipe away sweat before it dripped into my eyes. What a huge difference!

I can’t stop wearing the Elation leggings because they combine the best of both worlds. They are ultra-comfortable and durable with a butter-soft fabric that offers slimming compression. I snagged the leggings in the black/bright white shade. However, they come in a shadow blue/block style, too. The sizing selection was a huge plus. They come in regular, tall and petite in XXS-XL.
Made from nylon and lycra, these leggings feature moisture-wicking and quick-drying benefits. As a notoriously sweaty girlie, I’m no stranger to visible perspiration marks post-workout class. I was even more impressed when I noticed minimal sweat stains after wrapping the class.
In terms of style, the leggings feature two of Athleta’s Powervita waistbands for an added touch of style and support. Even better? They’re breathable and allow airflow to pass through easily. Best of all? You don’t have to worry about shrinking them or disrupting the fabric. They’re safe for machine wash and dry. Spending nearly $100 on one pair of leggings may seem extreme to some. However, they’re durable enough to outlast less expensive styles that you have to purchase over and over again.
As much as I enjoy these leggings, I’m happy to report that Athleta shoppers feel the same way. “I decided to give these a shot! And I’m so glad,” one reviewer wrote. “The material is so soft however it has enough compression where I feel confident wearing them,” they added before urging other shoppers to “Try them out.”
Another shopper beamed, “This is my favorite workout set yet,” before adding, “They are so buttery and stretchy while still maintaining structure to keep you tightened up. The double layer adds such a fun color-blocking element and extra snatch for the waist.”
If you ask Us, budge-free leggings with shaping compression and minimal sweat marks sound like a complete dream. These long-lasting Athleta leggings check off all the boxes!
