Ireland Baldwin Finds Mom Kim Basinger’s Vintage Playboy Cover While ‘Thrifting in Vegas’

Ireland Baldwin sees her mom everywhere!

The 28-year-old daughter of Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger visited Las Vegas to celebrate a friend’s upcoming wedding and, while shopping in Sin City, stumbled across one of the most iconic photos of her mom — her February 1983 Playboy cover.

In an April 6 Instagram post, Ireland shared a picture of the issue on a rack filled with other vintage Playboy magazines.

The $15 copy highlights the blonde beauty as “007’s new woman,” as she starred in 1983’s Never Say Never Again alongside Sean Connery’s James Bond.

“Just thrifting in Vegas 🫣❤️,” the model-turned-writer wrote in the caption, tagging her mom.

Recently, Ireland shared another post dedicated to her mom while celebrating the actress’s 70th birthday.

In December, the writer shared a snap of herself and her mom at her March 2023 baby shower, which was thrown by Basinger, when she and boyfriend RAC (born André Allen Anjos) celebrated the arrival of their baby girl.

Alongside a photo of herself — clad in a pink wig for the festivities — posing with a smiling Basinger, Ireland wrote, “Happy birthday mommy 🥹.”

“There’s no one like you,” she continued. “There will never be. you are my forever IT girl. 🩷🫶🏻.”

Ireland is the only child of Alec and Basinger, who were married from 1993 to 2002. The couple divorced when she was 7 years old.

Reflecting on the pair’s “painful” split in 2016, Basinger told The Edit by Net-A-Porter that “divorce is hard on a kid, no matter how you cut it. And ours was very public and nasty.”

“So I brought up Ireland in a very unconventional way,” the actress continued. “I just wanted her to be free. If she wanted to have her friends over and write over the walls with pen, that was fine.”

“I wanted her childhood to be full of love and light and animals and friends,” she added.

Now, Ireland is also a mom. The writer welcomed daughter Holland — her first kid and Alec and Basinger’s only first grandchild — with RAC in May 2023.

Speaking about her hopes for parenthood on Girlboss Radio ahead of Holland’s birth, Ireland revealed that she was most excited about “things I really wanted in terms of stability as a child myself.”

“I get to raise this little human and do things completely differently than what I was taught was the norm,” she said at the time. “It’s cool that I get to unconditionally love this person and do my best to make her as equipped for this world and badass as possible.”
