Last week, on Sept. 17, South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone made the surprise announcement that there would be no new episode of the Comedy Central animated series.
“Apparently when you do everything at the last minute sometimes you don’t get it done,” the duo said about the latest episode. “This one’s on us. We didn’t get it done in time. Thanks to Comedy Central and South Park fans for being so understanding. Tune in next week!”
Since the July 23 premiere, South Park has been following a bi-weekly release schedule for its 27th season, with the latest installment airing on Sept. 3.
So, with no new episode of South Park last week, is the animated satire back with a new adventure tonight? Here’s what to know about this week’s episode of South Park and where to watch the cartoon comedy.
Why wasn’t there a new episode of South Park last week?
Season 27 of South Park has been airing new episodes every other week since it premiered on July 23. A new episode was due to air on Sept. 17, but that day, creators Parker and Stone said it would not be done in time.
Following the announcement, Stone dismissed rumors that a finished episode was not being aired.
“No one pulled the episode, no one censored us, and you know we’d say so if true,” Stone told The Denver Post in September 2025. “We just didn’t get it done. When you always cut it close, sometimes you mess up. That’s the price of being a procrastinator.”
So far, there have been four episodes in season 27, with the most recent one airing on Sept. 3.
Is there a new episode of South Park tonight?
Yes, South Park‘s new episode, titled “Conflict of Interest,” is set to air on Sept. 24. The episode will follow Kyle and Cartman, who are “at odds when a prediction markets app gets popular with their fellow students,” according to a release.
“It’s gonna be great,” Stone told The Denver Post.
New episodes will air every other week for the rest of the season. After Sept. 24, the release schedule for upcoming episodes is as follows: Oct. 15, Oct. 29, Nov. 12 and Nov. 26.
The season finale is set to air on Dec. 10.
What happened to South Park‘s episode on Charlie Kirk?
Charlie Kirk was parodied on the Aug. 6 episode.
In a TikTok posted on Aug. 7, Kirk called the episode “hilarious,” and said, “Now, there’s going to be a lot said about this, but we need to have a good spirit about being made fun of. This is all a success, this is all a win.”
Following Kirk’s death on Sept. 10, the episode — titled “Got A Nut” — was pulled from reruns on Comedy Central, but The Charlie Kirk Show producer Andrew Colvet insisted that’s not what Kirk would have wanted.
“Hey @paramountplus, as someone who can speak with some authority on this, Charlie loved that he was featured in South Park. He told me many times. He would want the episode back up,” Colvet posted on X on Sept. 17.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Comedy Central pulled “Got A Nut” from a scheduled rerun airing, but it is still available to stream on Paramount+ and CC On Demand.

The next new episode of South Park airs Sept. 24 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on Comedy Central. It will be available to stream the next day on Paramount+.
