Jason Momoa and Adria Arjona are taking a new professional step together.

On June 26, the couple were two of 534 artists and executives invited to become members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, who vote on the annual Academy Awards. Per a statement shared with PEOPLE, new members into the exclusive organization “have distinguished themselves by their contributions to motion pictures.”

“We are thrilled to invite this esteemed class of artists, technologists, and professionals to join the Academy,” Academy CEO Bill Kramer and Academy president Janet Yang said in the statement. “Through their commitment to filmmaking and to the greater movie industry, these exceptionally talented individuals have made indelible contributions to our global filmmaking community.”

Other notable 2025 invitees included recent Oscar nominees and winners, such as Ariana Grande, Kieran Culkin, Mikey Madison, Monica Barbaro, Sebastian Stan and more. In the statement, Momoa was recognized by the Academy for his roles in Aquaman and Dune, and Arjona for Hit Man and Blink Twice.

Momoa and Arjona first went public with their relationship in May 2024, after Momoa shared that he had “been in a relationship for a while” at a U.K. Comic-Con event that month. The couple have appeared on several red carpets together, making their debut at the Saturday Night Live 50th anniversary special on February 16 in New York City.

In May, the couple attended the 2025 Cannes Film Festival together for the premiere of Arjona’s film Splitsville, also starring Dakota Johnson.

“I love that I got to share such a special moment with my love and my forever favorite date @prideofgypsies ❤️,” Arjona captioned a May 21 Instagram post, tagging Momoa’s account. She also showed her support for her beau when they attended the London premiere of his film A Minecraft Movie with his mother Coni in March.

In May, a source exclusively told PEOPLE that the couple’s relationship is “real” and “genuine.”

“He cares about her,” the source explained. “She’s good to him — and a lovely and genuine person and real like he is. She has a good sense of humor and is easy to be with. They relate to each other.”

Momoa was previously married to actress Lisa Bonet; they filed for divorce in January 2024 after initially splitting in January 2022. The couple share two children: daughter Lola, 17, and son Nakoa-Wolf, 15.
